I'm still celebrating a Christmas party.

And it's below freezing.......rain+freezing temperatures=ice........at least around my house in n.w. okc

I imagine they're starting to get pretty icy now that it's late and very few people are out on the roads. I'm not going to find out until tomorrow...afternoon.

And it's below freezing.......rain+freezing temperatures=ice........at least around my house in n.w. okcnot necessarily. it has to have been below freezing long enough to drop the temp . of the ground.

The air around cloud level and a little ways below is above freezing, so the stuff that's falling is still in liquid form, but there's a layer of below-freezing air above the ground that's freezing this stuff if it sits around undisturbed for too long.

Some of the worst weather; I'd rather just have snow.

The main roads are passable, but even in intersections, there is quite a buildup of 'crud'.

Outside of the main roads, travel at your own risk. I saw a number of cars on the side of the road.

my clock is flashing 12:28, and I can hear tree branches snapping around me. guess I'll go back to bed and hope one of those branches doesn't crash on top of my bedroom.

not necessarily. it has to have been below freezing long enough to drop the temp . of the ground.

You're absolutely right, I said that tho, b/c the rain on the ground was icing over at my house
