You may be connected to a neighbors network. Is the outage limited to your house is it more broad?

Been hearing trees snapping for a couple hours now. Very crazy!!! The road in front of the house looks to be ok. I guess. Everytihng else has a thick coat of ice on it.

Be safe! Hopefully none of you have pine trees near the house, they don't take ise well and the snapping sound they make when the fail is the worst ever, heard it during one of Atlanta's worst ice storms in 1976...

I've been cranking the thermostat up to about 85 degrees inside the house in case the power goes out. Everyone is hot and wearing shorts and t-shirts, but I just know it's gonna go out anytime and I want the house as warm as I can get it if it does go out.

It sounds like an ice storm we had in Omaha back in 1997. It was terrible. Trees were down everywhere and some people didn't get power back for over a couple weeks. Stay inside and stay safe!

Yeah, because that heat will last for days.

I remember one time back in the late 80's or so we had a horrible horrible ice storm up in Muskogee. That's still the worst one that I can remember. The ground itself was frozen solid with a good 3-4" of ice (and more in some spots). I'm talking solid as a rock perfect ice. It was like one giant skating rink.

Anyway, those were good times for a kid though. I had fun.

I remember the ice storm back in 2001, we were with out power for 3 days. we stayed at my brothers because he had a gas floor furnace. good thing fo 1930's technology.

Thank goodness the beer will stay cold. In hurricane country, when you lose juice, that is a major concern.

I was without power for so long when it came on it scared me. But I did learn to play the guitar.

Power was out here in north OKC all day until about 3PM. Luckily we have a fireplace and I had stocked up on wood. With a healthy fire burning and the dim light coming in I managed to build two pieces of those prefab Sauder furniture and untangle that huge mess of wires behind my computer desk. :D

Ain't being snowed/iced in great?
