The closest one to us is Hillsboro, my wife stopped by there on the way back from Dallas last week. There have been rumors of them opening one in Waco. We wish it would happen soon.

I actually drive up to Hillsboro once a semester or so just to have Braum's.

One of the employees at the Hillsboro store told me that. So I emailed Braums and all their reply was they have considered expanding to the Waco market but Austin was probably too far from their service area.

When I worked in Dallas I always stopped by on the way back to Austin. Now whenever we are in the area of one we stock up, we usually take a cooler with us. We have even exposed the West Texas relatives to it. Now with it getting colder, we can bring some ice cream home. I wish they would come back out with the Cinnamon Crumb Cake ice cream flavor they used to have around the holidays.

I miss their egg nog. I'll be back in Okie in a few days though so I can stock up.

If you went to the one by I-35 in Ardmore, I'm honestly surprised you still aren't in line waiting for your food.

We lived in Ardmore for 6 years, and the only place more frustrating than that Braum's was the tag agency on Veterans Boulevard.

They aren't franchises, they are all company owned stores.

I agree though about time, don't go there if you are in a hurry. The Ardmore one does seem to be the worst that I have been to.

tell them to mop the floor and clean the booths.

i've never experienced such a consistent divergence of food quality and cleanliness/service.

I went to the one on Commerce. It took 5 minutes to get a cheeseburger and a cone. mmmmmmmmmm

The cashier girl had a smokin hawt body but had crank teef.

The tag office on Veteran's is slow. I don't think the combustion engine had been invented yet when the ladies that work there were born.

They are both sisters and they work at a tag agency. Coincidence? I think not!

Man...Braum's...grab me a Bacon Cheeseburger, some fries, a Peanut Butter Cup malt...and then swing by Ted's and grab me some beef fajitas (chips, cheese and salsa, too, please), a limemade from Brown Derby and a Super Spud from Robb's Ribber...both in Shawnee...and then a freaking Mazzio's salad with lots of eggs, green olives, ranch and creamy Italian.

Salad bars haven't really caught on in Phoenix for some frickin' reason!!!

Man, I'm hungry!

I'm not a big salad person, but the best one in Phoenix is at the El Paso Bar-B-Que Company. It weighs about 12 pounds and is loaded with eggs, cheese, bacon, and croutons.

Thanks, Harry!

Oh, and the best BBQ in Phoenix is NOT Joe's in Gilbert.

It's Kinfolks at Hayden and Thomas in Scottsdale. GOOD STUFF!!!

I haven't been to Joe's. People around here think that Dave's is awesome too, but people around here don't really know anything about BBQ either. It's just okay. I'll have to try Kinfolks.

The chili at El Paso is also good, it has brisket in it. Not very spicy but has really good flavor. A salad, jalapeno cornbread, and a bowl of chili is really all you need there.
