Tehranian university students raising hell about repressive Islamo-fascist regime today. This is an encouraging sign.

I must add, there is a certain irony to this if the movement eventually leads to the downfall of the fundamentalists. It was college students in the late 70's (these kids' parents) who toppled the shah and set-up the ayatollahs.

A friend of mine spends time in NW Iran. He told me that Americans are loved over there. Everywhere he goes people can't wait to talk to him and love to help in any way they can.

Tehran has a Baskin-Robbins and a bunch of other Western stores. He also said that Pepsi has a bottling company there. Men love to wear their hair like Americans, so the gov't passed a law that fines you for having gelled, spiked up hair. Gundy could be a national hero.

I am guessing Ahmadinejahd will have those homosexuals charged, tried and executed.

Not to be overly cynical, but I've been hearing about dissent in Iran for 10 years or so. It seems to me that the Ayatollahs will allow these "demonstrations" to show that their critics are wrong about Iran being a repressive, closed society; and then drop the hammer on any malcontents when no one's paying attention. They'll keep their power by any means necessary.

There ARE no homosexuals in Iran!

Anyway, they'll hate us enough when we bomb the snot out of their country. :(

Good to see college students are good for something.

Exactly. And there's little or no dissent either. So these people will be declared homsexuals and eliminated.

Iran's youth movement is the OSU football of political movements. I wish them luck, but I'll believe it when I see it take an actual hold on political outcomes.
