So far it looks like Dallas has spent too much time running their mouths and not enough time preparing for this game:mad:

I'm getting this game live. I used to be a big Cowboys fan. It is 2am here and tomorrow is a public holiday.

And somehow, I'm still waiting for AD to play and willing to stay up in the off chance that Minnesota-SF is the second game picked up here.

BTW, do you think the refs are definitely favoring Dallas? It seems like that.

I agree. The NFC is wide open in the playoffs, and I can't seem to think a team that hasn't won a playoff game since I was 10 is going to win the NFC Championship.

My favorite part of channel 25's ...um..."coverage" of this game was when the weather guy said "We've got it fixed, back to the game" and they cut to the Texans/Bucs game instead of the Dallas game. Way to go, knuckleheads.

bluedogok

The Packers had a long playoff drought before Holmgren took over there as well. They had not been in the playoffs since the 1968 Superbowl (1967 season) until they went in 1983 (1982 strike season) and didn't go again until Holmgren took them in 1994 (1993 season).

They know all too well about playoff droughts but I guess most bandwagon Packer fans (like my ex-brother-in-law) wouldn't know about the history of "their" team. But then what does he know, he is an OSU fan who didn't go to school there :D

I like the Packers, I just like Dallas better.

My grandfather played O-Line for the Packers off/on in the late 30's-early 40's being one of those players who was cut/called back a few times.

Good teams make their own luck much of the time. Cowboys made Favre look like the old man he is. It won't be the Pack that stops the Dallas 'LUCK'.

Romo is definitely teh awesome in the 2-minute drill. As soon as Dallas got the ball back I told my dad Dallas would take the lead, then questioned if they could stop Detroit from getting in game-winner FG position.

It is pretty evident today that the whole "let's bench Roy Williams" thing is a joke. The stand-in guy who is supposedly better got roasted from the Roybacker position. The thing about Dallas' defense right now is when they get a great pass rush, they leave a safety valve open and the rest of the unit chokes off a big play. When the secondary IS covering well, the D-line generally is sucking air while the quarterback stands tall and waits for the posts and breakdowns. Very inconsistent, but the team continues to show a lot of heart altogether.

Heart will go a long way, but it doesn't take you all the way. Inconsistent play and breakdowns generally end up costing you big time before it's all over. Refer to the 2004 Sooners team. Great offense, led by two Heisman finalists, one being a winnar... four NFL wideouts, stud freshmen TE and All-BIG 12 OL. Defense kinda chugs along inconsistently, with the offense bailing them out constantly, and then you find a game where the offense turns the football over (Orange Bowl GWWDNSO), who do you NEED to step up?

Dallas right now is very similar to how we were in 2004, with New England being the SUC. I know, I know... two completely different levels of the game, blah-blah... but think about it. If Dallas could have taken care of the football when they played New England, they had a great chance, and the game could have been down to the wire. Instead, they had to rely on their defense to bail them out of a couple of turnovers... and the defense, on it's home field, wasn't championship caliber, surrendering scores each time.

When heavyweights slug it out, the team with the better defense always wins.

Thank you, i thought it had been longer than that; they haven't been the same since Holmgren left, but they may have hit the lottery with their current coach.
