View Full Version : Anybody shoot a big deer this season?

I did. 190 yards, 180 pounds, died before he hit the ground as is appropriate for such a magnificent beast. His three sons who I watched for a day and a half will now fight it out to see who gets the terriority.

He had romance on his mind and I heard him marking bushes and saw him chasing does a dozen times before he finally stood still just long enough. He was 6 1/2 years old, if there's a heaven for deer he's there as we speak.

RIP my worthy adversary.

I have shot rabbits bigger than that:D

saw a couple of sixers, but never shot. Saw an 10-12 pointer, he was massive, but we were on my bosses land and saved it for him

I got a nice 8-pointer . . . he dressed out at 160.

Absolutely, from the shoulders up. Not only does he deserve it, I may never get one with a rack like that again. Got a place on the wall picked out and waiting. Probably will be waiting for seven or eight months, taxidermists are busy this time of year.

I killed a 6 point with my Expedition..didnt look that nice tho after I was done with it...and the Exp didnt look very good either...And I sure wasn't smiling

orlly? I killed a doe with an 80,000 pound vehicle traveling 78mph down the Turner Turnpike once. I swerved left, deer went left, I swerved right, deer went right, I split the zipper line, deer followed the headlights...that's when I said, "Aww, f*ck it!" (in other words, "I've done all I can do")

Ka-BAMN!

The animal exploded and her hide got caught on an air tank relief valve under the chassis, pulling it open. Air-brake alarm started going off. I had to pull over, crawl through all of that Ragu sauce (and, Lord, did it smell bad) to close the valve.

You ever kill anything other than deer?

BLuh...The dear made eye contact with me as I hit it with its head laying on the hood..There was a car coming so I didnt swerve...
