Hmmm, interesting idea. A playoff that is decided by polls.

Has anyone presented this idea to the BCS?

Well - aside from a PLAYOFF  - everything's been used to pick champs except raw democracy. Might as well give it a shot !

These things always seem totally silly to me.

I will say this, though: This season has been a superb argument for the +1 format "micro-playoff", where the top two teams after the bowls play for the national championship (with one game pitting #1 vs #4, the other bowl getting #2 vs #3).

We'd benefit nicely from such a format. And if they made it so the only time they went to a +1 bowl game was if 3 of the top 4 BCS teams had identical records, it'd be a very fair system (meaning, if there's, say, two undefeated teams and then a bunch of 1 loss teams, having an extra "championship" game would be unnecessary).

Just my two cents.

I was looking in for some input of what Sooner Nation thought of a playoff system. I like to have a playoff system but where are the games going to be play at? I also like to use the bowls. I just can’t see the team fans traveling around the states through four rounds of playoffs. If you team is lucky enough to get though three rounds. Also the championship game will be like the Super Bowl. The hype will be so crazy that the tickets will be out of price range for most fans.

Here’s a fun custom seeding and simulating playoff rounds.

Keep voting. Depending on when they close this, we may be able to take advantage of the time difference & regain some ground. Earlier this AM, we were down 42-58, so we've caught up a little.
