Sorry, Newbomb, I'm not going to let you own this thread. ;)

Agree about the unis, I don't mind the grey piping on the whites, but these are gawdawful.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:27 PM
is it grey or gray. I've always geen confused on that one.

20-8 OU.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:27 PM

Godbold hits!

Dang the traffic control!

20-8 OU.

LOL. Dunno, I've seen it both ways.

Huge block by Griffin!

Good grief, by the time I get another post on it'll be halftime.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:29 PM
that was a sweet move by Crocker.

22-8 OU

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:30 PM
I'm really surprised that TU isn't double or triple teaming Griffin.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:32 PM
Nice steal off the inbounds.

Can't convert and L2 gets the over the back.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:33 PM
Sooners have been a bit sloppy since Ash showed up. ;)

nice move by L2 in the post for a bucket and a foul.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:33 PM
L2 makes a nice move and gets the and one.

Not sure I understand our motion O, seems to stagnate at times.

I really like these new unis. I would be great if the football team changed up a bit too.

Wonder if Capel had something to do with it. Lost of flava.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:38 PM
yeah.

I know Tulsa is no good, but this team has a little potential.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:39 PM
Wow. Godbold is hitting outside jumpers.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:39 PM

Tulsa isn't very good, but you can see what these guys can do when they're playing well on D and hitting shots.

Problem is, on the road, the rims haven't been as kind.

Also, other people have packed the paint or double/tripled our post. For some reason, Tulsa thought they could take us one on one for the most part down low. It ain't workin'

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 09:42 PM
I agree. I'd make us beat ya from the outside.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:44 PM
Nice bucket by Blake, but even there you can tell he's still getting used to the fact that he's not bigger, stronger and more athletic than everybody else in D1 as was the case in high school. He can't simply move people out of the way and then elevate right over them.

Ash
12/5/2007, 09:46 PM
Whoa! Crocker hits from Edmond! 37-12

Ash

Sounds like we're playing pretty well.

Hey, I'll take not being the third-best team in the state. Heck, there's a good shot we'll be the best team in the state this year.

I can live with that. First the state, then the conference, then the nation.

Sooners uber alles! ;) ;) ;)

I think you're right. If we continue to get better and make some noise in the conference, it could be a pretty good year.

It always seems like we're complaining about broadcast crews, I actually like these guys that do the local Sooner games. I like the Spoon!

I'm just glad I get to watch the games.

Ash

Not a good sequence for the Sooners.

About the unis: if it wasn't for the white stripe on the legs, it would like somebody washed them with the darks.

Ash
12/5/2007, 10:14 PM
One thing Blake has down, is shot blocking. That guy is amazing getting off the floor and getting to the ball.

Boomer.....

Those uniforms are hideous, but if we play like this wearing them, keep them on.

Newbomb Turk
12/5/2007, 10:15 PM
can we play Tulsa every game this year?

Ash
12/5/2007, 10:15 PM

Ash

Heh. L2 gets a nice finger roll.

Ash

Man, burning the nets tonight. Have we seen the team shoot this well this year? Seems like everyone is hitting their jumpers.

Yeah, not too shabby as an occasional change of pace. Much better than black (yecch!). What I'd like to see is a cream-colored uni in some sport. I think I'd be doable, and look really sharp.

I don't normally rag on Bob Barry but tonight I had to go pick up the kids from church so I turned on the radio broadcast of the game. During that 10 minute drive I learned we have players by the names of Keith crocker and Taylor Godbold.

so are the uniforms predominantly gray or is it just gray trim?

They are light grey unis with crimson trim and a white stripe on the outside of the shorts.

Think Georgetown Hoya with crimson numbers and names.

Some pics of the unis, although it doesn't do justice to how they looked on TV. The grey looked darker.

Never seen a true "Crimson and Cream" uniform, but you might be right. The San Francisco Giants have a cream, orange and black home uni, and it looks OK on TV. Well, except the orange and black part. But you get my drift.

i kind of dig those. not sure why.

i don't have a problem with our boys going to an alternate kit. as long as we don't have a black one, i'm cool with the gray.

Sadly, it was the "best" crowd of the year (I was there). A few more butts in the seats than there has been a tad more lively. But still, pretty pathetic.

We have awful sports fans outside of football, that's just a fact. Lay out all the excuses you want, but that's the truth. I would be VERY unimpressed if I was a recruit, so major props to Capel for what he's done in that department.

Team looked almost flawless last night-- they got into the offense early and hit shots-- Blake was much more active.

Tulsa is atrocious, but it doesn't take away from the fact that we were sharp. The Arkansas-Gonzaga games are going to be huge for this team.

I didn't really dig the gray unis. They look sharp, but they don't look OU. Still, I'm willing to stfu if the players love it. It's just a game, and it's their game.

Also, freaking great game. If Tulsa doesn't hit 6 straight 3s down the stretch, we win by 40+.

They have a chance (starting 12/15) to put themselves in a position to make the Big dance.

12/15 - Arkansas (home) - fans really need to pack the house
12/20 - Gonzaga (OKC)
12/29 - at West Virginia

If we can 2 for 3 on that swing that would put us at 12-3 going into conference play with 2 quality wins (assuming we win the remainder of our home creampuffs). Add a 10-6 on top of that in conference play and they are definitely dancing.

I do not like the gray jerseys. Hated them at first site.

But if we play like we did last night...I will soon love the gray jerseys.
