If you're flying out of Oklahoma, not on Southwest. SWA is charging over $500.00 per ticket. Tucson as well. Expedia is advertising flights around $325.00 with stops.

Anything coming into PHX from Vegas, Ontario, San Antonio, etc. is reasonable on SWA ($85.00 per leg), you just have to get to those places first. No, you can't leave OKC/Tulsa to do it...still jacked up.

Good luck.

Put on a white satin jumpsuit and tell these guys you need a ride to Vegas. They'll let you go for free. Then just jump out over Phoenix. Really, it'll work. I saw it in a movie.

I am not going to say, "It'll grow by bowl time," and no one can make me.

Looked today after I booked them and they are $470 now. Glad I jumped on it.

I hope the aggies keep to themselves down in Tempe. I don't want them ruining my holidays up here.

We're flying Continental there and Frontier back. It was about $440 each. Hopefully they have real planes and they're not held together with rubber bands and bailing wire.

Southwest had NO flights coming back on the 3rd so that was out.

My MIL is coming out here for Christmas, and had a hard time in October booking her return flight to OKC around New Year's. The cheaper tickets were already gone by the first or second week of Oct.

You might try flying out of Dallas or Amarillo or something. Probably a little bit of a pain, but may be able to get something a little easier.

I don't know the Glendale area, but north Scottsdale/Carefree/Cave Creek have some good courses. I think you've played Rancho Manana, haven't you? Desert Mountain, the Boulders, Grayhawk, Troon, the TPC courses (where they play the Phx Open, $$$), there are a ton. Cost of the good ones will be high; Grayhawk is $175, I know the Boulders is higher. There are some local courses in the NE that are cheaper, Dove Valley Ranch is by me and is around $100. I don't know how good it is, but you can google it and check it out. I'm not sure how many of the ones I listed are private. I know the Boulders is a resort course, so it open to the public.

They're all going to be hella expensive that time of year, but there are roughly 300 courses in the Valley so you shouldn't have a problem finding one. You don't have to worry about snakes in January though, that's a plus.

A long way from Scottsdale. You'll be here at the zenith of the jacked up green fee season, winter + holidays + bowl games.

I stopped playing about five years ago. There are a million good courses around here, but in the summer you feel like you're having a heat stroke by the 6th tee box and in the winter it's just too damn expensive.
