The one that AP made Saturday night was pretty nasty.

The best one I've ever seen was in 1990 when we were playing the Huskers in Norman. Mike McKinley took an NU tackler by the top of the helmet and just slammed him face first into the turf and then kept running. IIRC, we won that game 45-10.

Dunno if it's the best, but in 2005 at Texas Tech on AD's touchdown run, he just grabbed the guy and slammed him to the ground.

Marcus Dupree was the best.

I still don't understand all of these guys who don't just hit 'em low. They go down every frickin time.

Thanks for that, I had been looking for that. I'll never forget the collective gasp that went out from the crowd. It sounded like one of the Roughneks shotguns went off when he hit him...vicious hit.

Yeah, it was unbelievable. I was sitting in the NU section during that game because my friend's GF was a NU fan and got free tickets from her dad. All around me a collective "OMG!" was heard. :D

The AD stiff arm on Tulsa was pretty awesome.

Thanks to the joy of fathers arranging corporate sponsorships, I had a sideline pass that day, and that hit happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. What's great is how all 75004 people in attendance experienced the same low-level spinal reflex to grunt GAAH!!! in unison the moment it happened.

That game also featured Mickey Joseph sliding under the OU bench to a bloody end when the bench support cut through his leg. I think a very young Kenyon Rasheed was the guy standing up on another bench yelling to the students "oh my god! it cut his HEAD clean OFF!!"

i swear, krypton, we must've been standing right next to each other. i was on the 20 yard line with a shotgun in hand. i looked on some of the clips in the link... probably can only see our shoes. unlike now, the NEKS could go right up to the player's boundary on the sideline. i can still hear that crack. funny thing is, the same guy was on kickoff coverage after we scored. he got nailed again... HARD... and was helped off the field. needless to say, he was done for the day.

I was in the student section. That was a fun game and that is still my all time favorite hit.

That same year Aubrey Beavers came out of a pile with a helmet in his hand, Tulsa one IIRC.
