I'm a big fan of a playoff and would love to see it in College Football. It would make college football much bigger then it is IMO. But I'm also realistic and don't think a college football playoff will happen any time soon so why not make one change to the BCS Bowl structure.

Actually have the best match-ups not have these games contractually obligated. Who cares if the Rose Bowl wants to see the PAC 10 vs Big 10. USC will destroy Illinois by 50 points, no one really wants to see that except for the fans of USC. Same with OU and WVU with OU fans. No one else in the country will care that much after we demolish WVU.

Have LSU and Ohio State play
OU play USC
Va Tech play Georgia
WVU plays Kansas
Illinois plays Hawaii

These match-ups are what the fans really want to see. Look at all the blowouts in the BCS over the years.

1998
Tenn beat FSU in a good game
Ohio State beat A&M by 10
Florida destroyed Syracuse
Wisconsin beat UCLA in a good game

2 good games.

1999
Florida State destroyed Va Tech. Vick made it interesting for a while but the game was a blowout. FSU was a lot better 46-29
Michigan beat Alabama in OT. This was a good one.
Wisconsin beat Stanford in a sleeper of a game. 17-9
Nebraska destroyed Tenn. Game wasn't even as close as the final score.

2 good games, 2 blowouts.

2000
OU destroyed Florida State 13-2
Washington beat Purdue by 10
Oregon State killed Notre Damned
Miami destroyed Florida

4 games decided by 2 possessions or more.
And Miami beat FSU and should have played us in that NC game.

2001
Miami killed Nebraska
Oregon killed Colorado
LSU pounded Illinois
Florida killed Maryland

4 blowouts

2002
Miami and Ohio State is a classic game one of the best games ever.
Georgia destroyed Florida State
USC killed Iowa
OU killed Wazzu

3 blowouts and a great game.

2003
LSU and OU was a great game.
USC killed Michigan
Miami vs Florida State was one the worst BCS game ever. Both teams were bad.
Ohio State beat KSU by 7. But I don't remember the game being that close. I think KSU scored a late TD to make it close.

I'll give this one 2 good games 2 bad games.

2004
OU/USC I don't remember that game.
Texas/Michigan was a great game. Neither team could play defense.
Utah killed Pitt
Auburn edged Va Tech.

There 2 good 2 blowouts.

2005
USC/Tx is one of the best games ever.
Ohio State killed the Irish
West Virginia killed Georgia. They got late scores to make it close but that game was a blowout.
Penn State Florida was an OT game. Good game.

2 good games and 2 blowouts.

2006
Florida killed Ohio State
LSU killed Notre Dame
Louisville beat Wake Forest by 9
OU and Boise was a classic game
USC killed Michigan

3 bad games 1 decent game and a great game.

Forget the contract stuff. Just have it to where the 6 conference champs make a BCS game it doesn't matter where. And have the better match-ups.

that will only happen when the Rose Bowl drops from the BCS

I don't disagree but the Rose Bowl continues to have the worst games. Except when they hosted the NC in 2005. Every other game has basically been a blowout.
