Sagarin is in the BCS and the ELO CHESS is also a primary one which has them at #3.

Also, ****** of all people says Oklahoma did the most yesterday to jump the others. Mark May also lobbied for Oklahoma. This is ESPN people. What the F is going on? :)

Asteriks refer to the REPORTER who complained about OU running it up in 2003 on TAMU. Had no idea that name was asteriked.

I heard that the only part of sagarin they use is the ELO chess, whateverTF that is. We are not top 5 in that, If I read it right.

Oklahoma was number one in the Sagarin "Predictor" rankings before yesterday's game. That's Sagarin's formula that incorporates margin of victory. Teams are listed in order of their "predictor" number. But the BCS doesn't use that. They use the elo chess. When you look at the BCS standings, in the column for Sagarin ranking, it uses the elo chess. So we're third in the Sagarin ranking that matters. I think we were around eighth or ninth before last night.

Oh, and LSU is number two.

Unless we're second in the polls, I think we're pretty much ****ed. Even then, we might be ****ed.

we may be ****ed, but we won the Big XII, we're going to the Fiesta at a minimum.
I think back to August, and I would have jumped on that result in a heartbeat, and been thrilled with the result.
So............ today, I'm still thrilled with the result.

100% agree! Especially since i live about 10 minutes from University of Phoenix Stadium (ironically, enough, located in Glendale, Arizona) and can't wait to see the Sooners kick some serious arse at the Fiesta Bowl this year! (Although i wouldn't be TOO disappointed if we ended up at the Sugar Bowl instead. :) )

A sure sign of the End Times.

Why not OU?

If anyone states the obvious 'colorado' or 'tech' as reasons, then you don't get it.

LSU... lost on the road and at home.

Ohio State... lost at home AND played in a VERY ****tay conference.

Georgia... shouldn't even be in the conversation. KU deserves it more than them.

Va. Tech lost at home to BC and got biatch slapped by LSU so they're out.

OU should have won at CU but lost both games on the ROAD and one those games WITHOUT their starting QB. But WHY NOT Oklahoma in the big game? They're as deserving as ANYBODY after what I saw on Saturday nite.

BOOMER SOONER!

OU lost 2 on the road to teams that will be bowling. beat the #1 team on the last week, won the conf.
Can the other 2 loss teams say this?

To clarify, MI Sooner is right. We are #3 in elo_chess, and this is the one the BCS uses. LSU is #2 in that one. VT is #1, btw.

We are #1 in the pure points, in which scoring margin is the only thing that matters. Read the paragraphs above the rankings for details.

The thing that makes it worse is that we're not 3rd to LSU and Ohio State in the Elo-Chess poll. We're ahead of Ohio State. Virginia Tech is somehow #1 in that poll so we were basically #2.

I'm a huge ELO fan (the group, not the rating system). That made me laugh.
