I know he stuggles a bit in pass coverage, but man, he's the best against the run I've seen in a LONG time.

He's a BEAST, and next year he's going to be scary.

All linebackers struggle in pass coverage...that's why they're linebackers and not DB's.

...but to answer your question: I think he's one of the top 5 linebackers in the country. Another year next year like this one and he'll be a rich young man.

Curtis is far and away the best lb we have had in the Stoops era and maybe even in ou history

I think he's good.

:D

Oh, and and how about clutch ? The forced fumble inside the 5 on Charles in the UT game was the turning point. I know the tipped pass against MU was a gift, but he manages to be in the right place @ the right time.

Curtis is great, but Brian Bosworth was a truly incredible linebacker that was the best I ever saw. Maybe Nobis and Butkus were better, but I never got to see them play.

I love Bosworth, but don't forget, he played behind nosetackle Tony Casillas who was kind of all universe. Take Casillas away and Bosworth's stats take a big, big hit.

he has enough power in his fingertips to bring down great qb's. you just expect him to make the tackle, bust the play, and so on ...

I would love a t-shirt with this on it:

CURTIS LOFTON IS A MAN! HE'S #40![hairGel]

Speaking of Bosworth, there's a player on UCLA's defense, #54, named Bosworth. Ths Son of Boz?

I would give my right testicle before I would let Curtis Lofton hit me in full pads.

Nephew.

And there was a play at the beginning of the game, Daniels tried to run the option, the pitch man was covered, and Lofton stuck Daniels hard. I knew right then it was going to be a long night for Daniels.

Daniel pretty much got the **** knocked out of him almost every time he carried; Granger played a hell of a game

Boz played one year behind Casillas.

Boz played one year behind Casillas.
2 actually, 84 and 85, and in 85 Casillas missed 4-5 games with a knee injury i believe

Boz was a dominant college player, Lofton is very good.

Lofton is all over the field, best LB at OU in a long time, imo. He's a game breaker.

Curtis Loftin is by far and away the best since Boz and may be better next year. That is saying alot considering some of the LB's we've had. He is a true freaking stud!

Not knocking Boz by any means, but he never had to play against the type of offenses Lofton plays against today; i think Lofton is just as good

Three time All American linebacker Rod Shoate was pretty good, too.

He also had great teammates.

Both Boz and Lofton are great. The Boz scared people though. Curtis just seems too nice. I think that most people felt Brian was going to follow them home and eat their family! ;)

I was discussing an upcoming OU game with my former boss back in 1985. OU was about to play Pitt, I believe. My boss was a Iowa fan and didn't know much of anything about the Sooners. But he did tell me "That Boz guy is a ****** ANIMAL!!"

I don't think Lofton gets that sort of respect.
