Weird.............Not a good hire as a HC for them. Might as well as gone back to Solich. What a waste of a good football tradition. I say they go 3-8 next year with Pellini as HC

The jury's out on this one for me. I do think they'll be better off with him than Callahan, but how much better? Either way, he should be able to get the defense back in order there.

My #1 pick for overrated: The LSU defense. All year we heard how awesome they were but they sure gave up a lot of points. They gave up 30ppg in conference play. Our "horrible" defense has given up 21ppg in conference play. Of course the almighty SEC is obviously the reason for that.

Well if Les goes to Michigan, it's really going to hurt LSU.

Not that I am complaining or anything like that :D

Yes, the LSU defense has performed poorly in recent weeks.

Yes, Bo was talking with Nebraska officials during the whole time.

Coincidence? :O

Really, when Les gets named at Michigan next week, i think it should become quite clear why we lost our game against Arkansas.

If so, why would he leave Louisiana for Nebraska? Can you get any good boudin in Scottsbluff or Kearney, not to mention Lincoln or Omaha?

Steve Buscemi's buddy in Fargo.

i don't get the Husker "he get's it" fascination with Pelini.

poor Bugeaters.

if the Huskadoos can work the back to the past (albeit one year, and imagined)....they'll be the first in a long time.

be interesting who the OC hire is. that's for sure.

If true, Pelini needs to find a good OC and a good DC and focus on head-coaching in general, eg recruiting and building a team atmosphere and motivating the players. With his pedigree I think NU might be looking at Pelini as their best chance of finding a Stoops-like figure. And, yeah, because so many Nebraskans still have a woody for him that would smooth a lot of feathers. (While ruffling the pro-Gill ones, of course.)

Johnny Utah

I've always seen him more in the Mickey Andrews (FSU DC forever) role as opposed to HC material ... time will tell.

Stitch Face

Yeah, what I said. (This from Sporting News on the "confirmation" of Bo to NU)

Nebraska's decision to go with Pelini is similar to Oklahoma's move back in 1999, when it hired Bob Stoops. Like Nebraska, the Sooners had floundered under Gary Gibbs, Howard *************** and John Blake after years of glory under Barry Switzer before turning to a rising star defensive coordinator who was unproven as a head coach. The move has turned out well for Oklahoma.

Eh, it hasn't been too terrible...

It's not as widespread as it might appear. There are plenty of people who aren't sold on Pelini.

Of course, these people are sold on Gill, so...

Sounds like a two-horse race at this point. I'm betting Pelini wins by a nose.

Nebraska needs to hire the best football coach they can get (Kelly), not a nod to the past. Is the HC at Buffalo on anyone else's short list? no. Pelini is a weird nostalgia thing.

it ain't 1995 and ain't never gonna be again. does Nebraska need to learn to block and tackle, yes.

Bo is like Mike Stoops to me. not enough self-control.

Gill has been mentioned quite a bit with the Washington State job as well.
