It was a wild ride. you finally made it over the canyon.

Those who are my age remember being amazed by this guy. How could anyone take that much abuse.

We went to the Camelot when some friends told us his transporter was in town, he had a jump the next day out at Tulsa International Raceway.

That's a shock!

I thought he was already dead. :)

RIP, Evel.

He died?

He had a magnificently unique, homespun sort of theatrical presence. His stunts were great but his pre-stunt interviews were almost as good.

:(

I know lots of folks became more than disenchanted by his life after the Snake River fiasco, but I saw him jump once and was completely mesmerized by every jump he did thereafter.

I hope he's made amends for his sins and is on his way to a better place.

I will always remember him in his heyday.

Thanks Evel...RIP

In the early 70's, I had one of these and it was one of my favorite toys. I'd set up ramps for Evel to jump. You'd wind the crank and then push a button to release Evel on his cycle and he'd go zooming away. It was awesome.

Here's a good 8mm Video that was shot back in the 70's.

I will never understand how a human being could survive his crash at Caesar's Palace

What'd he do? Guess I haven't heard that story.

RIP, Evel.....I watched him many a Saturday on Wide World of Sports when I was a kid. That and the PBA Tour. :)

I have the bike and the figure, my dad found it in the attic a couple of years ago. He didn't know where the crank is but I am sure it is somewhere in the attic.

Oh yeah! Used to dig me a little canyon in the front yard, fill it with water, and jump right over that bad boy! Ahhh, good times! :)

that crank up motorcycle was the bomb. that mofo with the hard rubber tires could take a beating and jump shizz.

edit: though i guarantee my Knieval could out-jump Turks.:D

I had this too. It was one of my favorites along with Big Wheel and Stretch Armstrong.
