In keeping with the Ohio State theme, I believe Paul Brown's the only coach ever to win a state title in high school, a national title in college and a world championship in the pros. Led Massillon, Ohio, in high school, Ohio State to a national title and of course, won NFL titles with the Cleveland Browns.

Nate Hybl won a NC in Golf at UGA and a NC in Football at OU... yeah, yeah yeah, I know he's not a coach, but he is a SOONER!

Howard Jones, famous coach for the USC Trojans who won titles in 1928, 1931 and 1932 also won the 1909 title with Yale.

If anything, there may be several coaches that did this but all would be before the AP started in 1936.

Well, in Howard's case, things can only get better, because no one is to blame.

Bud never was the head coach at Minnesota. OU was his only college head coaching stop. Think he played on a national title team with the Golden Gophers, though.

we had so many different people in different categories, i had no clue which way we were going with it. I actually thought we were going with playing then coaching antional championship teams......

according to wikipedia:

coach led minnesota to three consecutive national championships as a qb.....very impressive.

Barry Switzer of course. Multiple NC's at OU, and then the Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys. :D

And if you mention Barry, you have to add Jimmy Johnson, did the same with the "U" and with the Cowboys. Also played on Arkansas' 1964 national title team.

And Switzer coached on that team.

Wasn't there a coach that moved from Yale to Stanford that won national titles at both schools. He invented the Wing T if I'm not mistaken. It wasn't Howard Jones, though.

Lou didn't win a title at Arkansas; ND was the only place where he won one.

Yes, Pop Warner. From Wikipedia:

In 1914, Warner was hired by the University of Pittsburgh, where he coached his teams to 33 straight major wins and three national championships (1915, 1916 and 1918).[5] He coached Pittsburgh from 1915 to 1923 to a 60-12-4 record.[6]

The next team Warner coached was at Stanford University from 1924 to 1932, where his teams played in three Rose Bowl games, including the classic 1925 game against Knute Rockne and the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame. Warner added a fourth national championship in 1926.

So it looks like he had titles at two schools.

Arkansas has never won the title in football. Yes they deserved it in 1964 but it was the format back then that the champion from both polls was selected before the bowl. Bammer is the 64 champ.

Johnny Majors came VERY close, winning one at Pitt and going 11-1 at Tennessee.
