. . . the one that is hefted by the coach and players on the winning team mere seconds after the final gun, tell me that isn't the actual $60,000 one that the school is awarded, but rather a plastic look-a-like that everyone can toss around and hold to mug for the camera.

it is indeed the $30,000 Waterford Crystal ball they hoist up. It has been awarded ever since 1986.

Now, my only question is, how the hell does Texas have 2?

I think they had one made for one of the past championships. The one on the left has an old picture on the base, the middle one has a color pic on it.
