well, I wouldn't complain about it, but I would wish they'd spent their money on something else. But I'm not a fan of racecars anyway, so I'm not a very good gauge for something like this.

I did the thing where you drive, not just ride at TMS. It was a blast but I'm into redneck NASCAR stuff. Whoever got it should have fun.

I did a ride along at the track at Disney World and it was ok. The
Mrs. got a lot bigger thrill than I did. I've heard the track at Kansas City
is better than the one at Texas.

I do know some guys who would love it. When I was stationed in Virginia and North Carolina those people were obsessed with car racing.

My father in law would love that! What a neat site. I was searching for stuff in the Seattle area and found some fun ones

Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp (http://www.signaturedays.com/SignatureDays/pages/browse/browse_experience.aspx?&loc_id=29&exp_id=1913)

Porche 911 Carrera Cabriolet for a day (http://www.signaturedays.com/SignatureDays/pages/browse/browse_experience.aspx?&loc_id=29&exp_id=2206)

And for us girls :) (http://www.signaturedays.com/SignatureDays/pages/browse/browse_experience.aspx?&loc_id=29&exp_id=629)

Yeah, go for the driving vs. the ride. It's more expensive but better than a ride.

The person who can afford that package can also probably afford the extra $1 a mile. It's kinda like when you see a huge house and say you would hate to live there because it would suck to clean but then you remember if you could afford a house like that you could also afford a maid. :P But I do agree that 125 mile is way too few.

Which one did you take, the Petty experience or another?
There are plenty of driving schools around that look pretty fun, if you have the dough and are into sprint cars then Dave Blaney's driving school would be awesome.
It used to have one course that went over the setup, a 20 lap ride with an instructor teaching you the different lines to run to maximize the horse power(since they don't have transmissions)and then....you get to run 100 laps against the other students. :D

I plan on doing a racing school to get a SCCA/NASA competition license next year. The Jim Russell Racing School (http://www.jimrussellusa.com/racingcourses/racingcourses.php) has a Speed & Spa school/hotel package (http://www.jimrussellusa.com/specials/speedandspa.php) at Sears Point in Sonoma for $4,995. They also have a 1-day driving experience for $595.

My sister won a Marlboro Racing School trip at Graham's a few years ago at California Speedway, they had a blast.

The one I did was called Team Texas. I drove in one of Joe Nemechek;s old cars.
