How often do you check the status of your accounts?

I check my credit card balances, checking, money market, and savings accounts on a daily basis. I often feel anxious if a transaction takes longer than I think it should to post. Is this common, or am I excessively paranoid about it?

I bought some computer hardware at ****** Computers a few months ago and later took some of it back for a refund. But instead of refunding my account, they charged me AGAIN for it. I didn't find this out until a few weeks later.

So no, I don't think it's paranoia. If it is, well.. I should be *more* paranoid.

I check my 401k almost every day, does that count for anything?

Nothing wrong with knowing exactly how much money you have at any given time. I don't do it that often, but it's what I'm working toward.

On the other hand, I've seen friends tear up their debit card receipts after a meal out. It really causes my anal meter to spike to see someone play it so lax.

Like you, I check mine daily.

In fact, I have it set up so that my bank sends me an email summary of actions posted to my account every day.

I check every other day or so.

hubby checks our accounts in the morning and in the evenings and reconciles the accounts each day. That way he knows what is still outstanding at all times.
