Favorite micro-brewery beer? and where are they located?

Mine would have to be Fat Tire Amber Ale. I really don't drink it that much in the summer, but in the winter it hits the spot.

or Moose Drool is pretty tasty.

Also the search feature isn't working, So sorry if someone has already started a thread like this from back in the day.

is fat tire really a micro brew?

Mine is Rock Hard from Huebert Brewing in OKC. Nothing like some alcoholic root beer.

I would consider them so. But I'm not a beer connoisseur.

They are a microbrew compared to the big brewers. From the article linked, New Belgium did 437,000 barrels last year, the A-B plant nearby did 8 million barrels.

Here is an article about Fat Tire and its impact on tourism for Fort Collins.

Breckenridge Brewery

We're talking whole breweries, right? At least one dinner at Breckenridge Brewery is a must for me when I go there.

I have always had a good experience at Bricktown Brewery.

And, that one place in Portland was delicious. Rock something? Help me out Yerdoleo or Octavian.

I would definitely love to tour the New Belgium Brewery, though. And I am massively impressed with thier environmental stewardship. It's a model company for the whole world.

New Belgium is definitely a micro brewery. I love it!

Dixie Brewing Company has to be right up there too. I love me some Blackened Voodoo!

As far as stuff from a brewery that we can get in Oklahoma, it'd have to be Great Divide.

Spek.
Dixie is being brewed up north somewhere, under the Dixie brewmaster's supervision, until the brewery in New Orleans gets restored after being flooded. Regular Dixie lager is one of the best and most underrated American-style beers.

I really like Boulevard Pale Ale, which I cannot get down here.

I'm going to have to go with the Honey Weiss from them. But I've never had the sunset wheat.

I had one of their Oktoberfest but wasn't a big fan.

That's so 1990. Actually a decent beer. I don't see it in the Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma area much anymore.

:D

I would, too, if they paid me enough. (I'd accept beer as payment)

Also, I think you might need to trade in the Hummer for a Prius for them to hire you. Their application probably has a spot for "carbon footprint" on it. ;)

Oh, the Hummer is gone. I found some care down there somewhere in myself. I'm no Vespa Jed but hey, we try.

Someone was praising the Moose Drool beer the other night....So I bought a sixer tonight. I'm (of course) letting the stuff get cold before I tear into them. But for $9/6 pack they better be good!

As far as micro brews go...I love this stuff here:

Big Sky Brewing makes more than just Moose Drool. Their best is Scape Goat Pale Ale, but the IPA, Powder Hound Winter Ale, and Trout Slayer Ale are also really good. Everything is good. They're my current favorite brewer.

We have a few local microbrews around here that have some pretty good stuff.

Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco (http://www.realalebrewing.com/), they also sell biodiesel KXAN - Blanco's Real Ale Offers Biodiesel With Its Brews (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22048093/). The Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston (http://www.saintarnold.com/) has some good beers as well.

I like New Belgium as well.

Also, Stone Brewing Co. makes some good beers. Arrogant Bastard Ale ranks high among their offerings.

Cool, thanks..I checked that website out.

Haha, this is pretty funny:

Trout Slayer Ale

They say the best way to shrink a fish is with with a ruler, but the best way to grow a fish is with a beer. Montana Trout Slayer is the beer to drink when you're knockin' back a couple cold ones and tellin' fish stories. Who knows the next one might be the best yet! "A bigger tale with every ale."
