Ugh!
Tonight I was hit for the 2nd time in 3 weeks while driving in my Miata.

The first time was in the Wal-Mart parking lot by a bozo cutting across the lanes who didn't see me, but that didn't do any damage.

However, tonight I was in a right-hand turn lane waiting to merge with traffic when this woman in an SUV smashes right into my rear end. It smashed the back right side up pretty bad.

Women can not drive worth a ****.

Ok. First, glad you're ok. Sucks about the car.

Second:

You are supposed to use merge lanes to accelerate to the appropriate speed to merge with traffic. Coming to a stop in a merging lane is kind of asking to be rear-ended.

This wasn't that kind of merge lane. I mean, it wasn't exactly like coming off a ramp or something like that.

In any case, I couldn't merge though because both lanes were full of cars.

So, I took my car over to the insurance company so they could estimate the damage.

They are giving me 2100.00 and said if I tried to get more than that they'd have to consider the car "totaled." I'm not sure how that impacts the price but whatever.

So, I'm really really wondering what I should do at this point. I'm somewhat tempted just to have them pop in a new tailight cover and then pocket the rest of the cash. I've been wanting a big screen HDTV.
