Prayers and Good Thoughts Please...

My Father called me tonight and asked that I come over to see him. When I got there my Mother told me she has been diagnosed with a Non-Operable Pancreatic Cancer which will require Chemo to try to shrink it. The prognosis is not good. While I was there another Doctor called and they want to do another CAT Scan / Fine-needle Biopsy tomorrow to either confirm the diagnosis or possibly there is another outcome. I'm a little confused about it right now but it seems there is hope that it might not be Lymphoma related or something like that...that's the part I'm not clear on.

Anyway my Mom is a very private person and would probably kill me for doing this...;)

Please say a quick prayer or a good thought for my Mom and Dad during this time of great anxiety and shock.

I've been in your position ST and it's not easy. You'll be praying to God and anyone else who will listen more now than ever.

A few words of advice: Take each moment one step at a time, spend as much time as you can telling your mother you love her and learning as much as you can from her and about her (your children will appreciate this in the years to come) and NEVER lose hope and faith.

UPDATE:

Well...Mom's Cancer is malignant and at this point non-surgical.

They are giving her a radiation port tomorrow.

Hopefully it will respond to radiation and shrink to the point surgery becomes an option.

Mom and Dad have had no power for a week also and are staying with my Brother for now.

Our Family has really come together and have been able to help when needed.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.


ALSO: My Daughters kidney surgery is Thursday morning so if you have a moment a quick prayer would be awesome for her and her caregivers. She's a little nervous but also ready to get it over too. God Bless you all...

Just an FYI...

I lost my Mom to Pancreatic Cancer. I was with her when she drew her last breath at Home.

My Daughter was checked out this year and the Surgeon says he sees no need to do any more yearly check ups on her as his opinion is that she has reached the age where she won't probably have any more problems.

Thanks to all who sent prayers my Families way. I will always do the same for each and everyone of you who need the same. Just let me know. I believe in it and even though it didn't help my Mom towards a cure....I truly believe it helped in her dealing with the pain and agony of that most vicious cancer. She went very peacefully.

My Daughter was cured by an amazing new procedure by Doctors at OU's Children's Medical Center. I will always be grateful to them and all who said prayers for her Surgery, Surgeon and recovery.

One of the most stressful moments in my life that year.
