contrary to stats shown during Saturday's game he is NOT yet one of OU's all-time tackle leaders for a season. The TOP 10:

10) Rod Shoate - 145
9) JackieShipp - 147
8) George Cumby - 154
7) Rod Shoate - 155
6) Darryl Hunt - 157
5) Darryl Hunt - 159
4) George Cumby - -160
3) Steve Aycock - 175
2) Darryl Hunt - 177
1) Jackie Shipp - 189

I don't remember the tackle totals listed on the graphics during the game but I recall thinking they have to be talking about Stoops era only.I think Curtis has around 130 tackles for the year so with 2 games left he should crack the Top 10.
For those curious about the lower tackle numbers of OU's recent leading tacklers ,bear this in mind,ALL 10 of these players are LBs who played in the Okie 5-2 alignment which was largely predicated on the 2 linebackers making the majority of tackles.I wonder if McCoy,Granger and co. realize just how BAD Shipp was in his playing days.

Sorry TD I should hve said somewhere in my post that thses were seasonal totals so MOST people would realize that Hunt IS the #2, #5,#6, all time SINGLE season leader. He is also the career leader in tackles BTW with 530. :)

well if you want to put it into true perspective. The current national leader in tackles is Jordon Dizon with 149. Although Scott McKillop of Pitt can pass him at least in regular season totals (he has 142 with 1 game against WVU left).

I believe the Lofton record is during the Stoops era, not all time.

Another thing to consider is how many passes are thrown now compared to then. corner and safety tackles are up and lb and Dl tackles are down

That graphic was odd. I think they mistook all-time Oklahoma tacklers for all-time tacklers under Stoops. The other two entires listed were for Calmus.
