It may have been lost inside another thread but I haven't seen anyone mention the overall job the SOONER D did against this "explosive offense" I mean they only gave up one long drive for a touchdown, and a field goal. The last seven coming off of a big two yard drive! THen the goal line stand...4 shots at the endzone from 2 inches out and the ball didn't sniff the turf on the other side of that line.

Wasn't it the "World's Greatest Offense" that our defense spanked??!!

Props to Curtis Lofton, he had a great game.

The defense was alternately brilliant and pathetic. The goal line stand was outstanding, but there were several plays with missed tackles that led to the 1st-and-goal from inside the 1.
IMO, the main thing that limited the OSU offense was that they didn't get the number of drives they usually do because the Sooner offense ran the ball and ate up the clock so effectively.

Ditto. Again, good adjustments made at the half. Not sure why the coaches wait until after the first 30 minutes to make changes. Once you see something a couple of times, then you would think you would start doing something about it.

Which is a tribute to our line and our offensive coaching staff for finally exploiting the hell out of a team's weakness. Why couldn't we do this against ISU? It would have been hard to do against CU, but would have helped if we could have gotten that same explosion off the line and hard running from our backs. Similarly, running the ball well against Tech could have helped in the first half. Why did it take so long to do this?

<obligatory "He's a man, he's 40!" quip here>

Overall I agree but he also had back to back whiffs that would've prevented 1st downs. It apparently pizzed him off something fierce and redoubled his resolve to kick some serious azz, which is what he did!

The offensive line also had their best game of the season.

The best defense is a good offense, I suppose. Not bad considering how depleted we were. Hope they're healthy against Mizzo.

You guys are right, the offense did great but they are not the ones that held osu to 3 scoring drives out of 10(one of those was just two yards and one was the field goal), forced them to punt 5 of 10 possessions, forced a turnover on one of those ten possessions, and forced a long fg attempt that was missed in one of those 10 possessions. ;)
