No, it was Gundy. They showed him on TV on a split-screen shot with Mike while he was doing that.

I never liked him either. Last night on the James Allen show, Allen was blowing him every which way, saying stuff like, "Cale, I still say that you were one of the best quarterbacks to play for Oklahoma"...Cale comes back with, "Well, I appreciate that comment, but even my own mother doesn't think that".

Dang, did he take you boy's girl friend away or what? He seems like a very humble and kind man to me. My wife asked him for a sig recently and he laughingly told her she didn't want his sig, he is a nobody! Then proceeded to sign everything she asked him to.

He was doing the same thing at the Texas game. I don't think it is reserved for OU.

He has coached some of the best backs to come through here (AD and Q). I am not going to complain about the guy.

I don't have anything at all against him, and since he played for, and now coaches for OU I'll definitely give him the benefit of the doubt...that being said: if I saw a coach on the opposing sideline doing what he was doing I would think it very bush-league. IMO it's the job of the cheerleaders and such to do what he was doing.

i was trying to figure out who it was

and i think he should do it more often... that part of the stadium likes to sit on it's hands a bit too much ;)

It's kinda hard to get pumped up about playing OSU... so he was doing a fine job, IMHO.

I also noticed he told the sideline reporter that he came out early at the games because he loved to hear the crowd sing "home of the SOONERS."

I wondered if that was a dig at disgusted :stunned:

He was getting the crowd pumped up at the Texas game too during some crucial downs. I was with a friend of mine (from Miami) who has never been to the RRS, he noticed it, pointed it out, and thought that was the coolest thing he ever saw a coach do.

I have seen many assistants do the same thing in all levels. It is fine for the assistants to do it, I don't know that I would want the head coach or coordinators doing it.

I know it happens, I used to work with a guy that as a coach led the cheers, and he pretty much was a laughingstock for it. I think as a coach there are better things to be doing then leading the cheers.

There's a very good chance of that. He was a legendary womanizer back in the day. If he is humble, as you say, then good for him, b/c it would be a drastic improvement over what he was when I saw him running around. ZERO humility. Of course, we all grow up to some extent.

I am wondering if their was a Gundy family bet on this game as that is the most animated I have seen Cale in his coaching career.I liked it.Better to have a coach getting the crowd into it then some stoned actor like UT has.
