When osu would kick a fg before the game or during, the fans would toss it up to the top of the stadium and someone would throw it over the wall to the outside..even if it didnt make it out , it would get tossed around for a while

Hey, its fun.... Why is it every time we do something that is not business-like, we have to be class-less or stupid. I wasn't in the north endzone doing that but it is always fun to watch people throw footballs out of the stadium against OSU. Its harmless. And yeah the wave happened again. It died down when our offense got back on the field, but people will still complain. I know.... how about the fans completely dissassociate themselves from the game. The wave is fine as long as it keeps fans interested when our team is not on the field. Throwing the ball out of the stadium is fun for the fans. Nobody else pays any attention. So who cares. I say lets just have fun at games. Ive noticed exactly what Bob Stoops said about our fans. They are spoiled. Its a fact. We are not as loud as we were in his first few years. I am disappointed by this, and anything to keep the crowd awake is fine with me (as long it does not affect our offense). Other than that, im proud of our crowd today (we all cheered well). Our team came to play and im proud of them for that. Congratulations to everyone at Memorial Stadium today. Another great day in OU history. On to the Big 12 Champ. game. I have my tickets and hotel, so lets get it up and carry the momentum into next week. I want my first trip to San Antonio to be sweet.

I'm glad he has, too! No, we don't need that perspective. We just need to enjoy our wins and get loud for every game, not just the big ones. I'm not complaining, I am just saying that everyone has high standards now that Bob has turned things around. We don't have to win every game by 40 points to be proud of our team though.

Then he threw down and it went back up. We sit in the section of the guy that starts OSU Sucks all the time which I think is hilarious. It starts at the first game and continues all year. A lot of OSU types sat in our section in the 90's and we took a lot of grief. Now it is payback!

I actually think the crowd is better and more involved/louder that it used to be.

I hope that you are right. The folks on the south end around the 20 were absolutely quiet most of the game. I was shocked at how quiet our fans were when OSU had the ball. I was one of the few voices constantly trying to distract the other team. In 2003, when OSU came into Norman it was noisy as all get out. I remember in 82 when USC came to town our crowd was very loud...when we had the ball. Our crowd was screaming support for the offense...but was quiet as could be when USC had the ball. You could hear their QB shouting signals. I was surprised at how clueless we were as a group. I went to a high school game in my home town this weekend and our home crowd would scream its support loudly when we were on offense, yelling at the same time that the visitor's yelled. Despite our crowd's misguided support we won Friday night.

OK..........:D

I am in section 19 and the fat man stopped right about our row. Mangino!!!! HAHAHA!!! That was the best!! I cannot believe a Sooner threw it back down (and a girly throw at that).

For some odd reason the folks that sit right next to me sold their tickets to ag and his girlfriend er uh sheep. One ball got in his hands and he was about to throw it down and then.....well I dont know what got into me but I practically tackled him knocking the ball down a few rows. About 3 minutes later it made it over the wall.

OK. I know it might sound "class-less" from a 37 year old.....but man that was fun.

I do have another question about ag that really killed me. Why in the "heck" do they take out their keys when we (or they) are about to kick off? This makes no sense to me (probably because I am thinking).:D

Also, that idiot next two me did the waving wheat crap too. I looked over at him and said "Dude, that has to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen"......his reply "That's what we do".:D

Anyway.....such is the life in section 19.

Yeah, that's it. I'm morbidly obese.

It's only good amusement when you are doing it to other teams' equipment. I have no doubt you're one of those Janus-faced dunderheads who would cry foul if the same thing happened to OU on the road.

They switched to the South EZ before half and the folks threw the balls back...They almost got a cheerleader and a bandmember.

I stopped one from clocking the kid behind me on the right.

I didn't see it coming and just reacted quick.

I don't think the kids Father understood just how fast that was coming because he said something like "You almost had that one" to his kid. The kid would have had it alright and probably would have wondered what happened when he came out of his mini-coma.

I'm glad I didn't pick it off...I wOUld have done something classless with it too. :D

Also...the sOUth EZ has an unwritten rule...don't hit the Handicap Folks with the ball. If you don't think you can make it...give it to someone who can.

Notice it only happens to aggy when they come here? I think it's hilarious and harmless fun. Nobody gets hurt and there's no profanity or anything. And no way would I whine if the same thing happened to OU at, say, the OU/tx game. I'd kind of expect it, actually.

It all depends upon whose ox has been gored apparently when humor is involved. It is similar to someone reading things that aren't actually on the posting screen. Posters have personal agendas that they deem necessary to ram down another poster's throat even when it is totally unrelated to what I posted. Oops!!! I suddenly have pronoun problems!!! I think it's funny...and it's been going on for years. They used to send it up the student section back before there was a big upper deck at the back of it. There was no back-and-forth in the student section. It zipped right on up there. Personally, I like the north endzone tug-of-war better. I think the rest of the fans need to get into it like the students do. Cheer when it goes up, boo when it goes down.

I mean, come on. It's a ball. If it's that big of a deal, raise the OU/OSU ticket prices by one dollar. $85,000 should cover the cost of the balls they lose.

I can agree with classless, unsportsmanlike and pointless...but I don't think it's really too far down any one of those spectrums. Heck, you can make an argument that not helping your opponent up after a tackle is classless and unsportsmanlike, but I don't think our players are bad people for not doing it.

However, to make the jump to inferiority complex is a bit much. Why can't it just be having some virtually harmless fun at the expense of our rival?

This only happens when we play Aggy. It's funny, non-offensive, and not dangerous. Look at it this way: at least our end zone seating is a. in use, b. not staring into the sun, and c. full. Only a. will be applicable once they finish renovating their "stadium".
