Callahan's fate will be announced at a 9:30AM press conference today. This surprises me because I figured they would wait until after the Nebraska-Creighton BB game to announce it, instead upstaging the basketball game.

Maybe they figured "the announcement" will be so anti-climatic, that it didn't really matter when they announced it.;)

Bye bye, F'in Hillbilly. Next school you go to, read up on the tradition of their rivalries before you make another complete *** of yourself. On the other hand, I'm not sure there'll be another job waiting for a goober like you!!!

I dunno.

I kind of like it when other teams in the BigXII have incompetent head coaches. Frankly, during our recent turmoil with players and officials, it was good we haven't been facing an Osborne or Royal on the other sideline. Red and maroon are both looking for new leadership, the oranges continue with theirs. I expect the corn guys to emulate Bob and look back to tradition and history to build for the future. The pretend Army? Not sure. Still, gotta hand it to them for beating their in-state rivals two years in a row.

Keep Mack and Mike!

Oh, and I didn't think da bears really were worth mentioning, but I just did, didn't I?

Well, I'll miss the multiple point beatings that he got for several years. It's gotten rid of some of the anger from the NU blake beatings we took. I feel sorry for some of their fans, most took their humble pie fairly well. However, Callahag can kiss my butt. But in honor of his "retirement", i'll retire my "Fn Hillbilly" avvy.

So long Bill, dont let the door hit you in the rear on the way out.

Any chance Neb consciously or unconsciously tanked the second half in order for this to happen? I really wonder. A win might have prolonged things for more than month and meant they had to play for him in a minor bowl, something most Neb fans did not want to see.

I think he may be done in college, he never seemed to be a fit for the college game, not just Nebraska. He will probably go back to the NFL as a QB coach or something. Fran at least achieved some good in college before the Bama and Aggie adventures.

Players meeting at 4 tomorrow. Looks like NU may not have a drawn out search like last time.

Never mind, it's just a housekeeping meeting. However, it does look like Jim Grobe of Wake Forest is interviewing today.

I want to go on record as saying that I'm not a candidate for the NU job. Just wanted to get that out of the way as a dozen or so other people turn the job down. ;)

That one statement brought decades of hard fought, respectful rivalary crashing to the ground. He should have been fired the next day.

Rumor on the street has Blake coming back to Norman as the assistant recruiting coordinator.

The weight of public opinion/speculation on Huskerpedia is tipping towards Turner Gill. Apparently he and Pelini have already met with TO and Gill has a press conference up at Buffalo which has been postponed, theoretically pending a big announcement.

I think Bo's their best bet, but then I don't know much about Turner Gill. Bo seems the most Stoops-like in terms of potential; if he gets away/gets turned down again he may not be too excited/available should the Huskers come looking a third time a few years down the road.

Hmm. Omaha news reporting that a new HC announcement is coming tomorrow.
