He is in the running in a poll on ESPN for greatest coach ever. It's a shame Wilkinson isn't on there. Anyway, right now the King has only a measly 1% of the votes. Lets change that!

I voted. But no way he gets past Bear Bryant. The Bear won 47 titles and stuff ...:twinkies:

Exactly my point in posting the thread. Switzer isn't getting any respect at all. Dr. Tom was indeed a great coach, but it's ridiculous to say that he was a better coach than Switzer. It took him nearly TEN more years to accomplish what Barry did in 16 years.

I agree completely. But having said that, I still think it's worth showing up to vote for, and support at least one of our legends.

Out of the 6 other remaining coaches Switzer has a winning record against 4. The other 2 he never coached against. :D
