C'mon guys, face it. OU never had a chance to win the Big 12 this year, forget about the national title. Weird things happen in odd years for the Stoops led Sooners....99,01,03,05, now 07.

Next year we are golden. Bet the house on the Sooners.

Well for starters, it does look bad.

We're playing an OSU team with just enough spark to score an upset if we collapse again ala Baylor (defensively).

Texas is on a roll, hasn't lost since the RRS.

Even in the event that we own OSU... we'll be playing either undefeated Kansas or a Mizzou team that gave us fits.

I think we have enough firepower to pull it off and go to the BCS, but as I said last week, we have one of the toughest runs to get to the BCS in the nation.

This year is already a success IMO. I'd like a strong finish and I understand that many of us who had our hopes get way too high have been disappointed.

We beat Texas. In the '90s this was about all I could hope for.
We found 2 freshman phenoms in Sam B and DeMarco M!
No seniors on a very solid O-line.
We've shown some serious heart in games like the Tech game.
We've finished off teams this year more than we have in a couple years.
There are so many huge coaching jobs coming up and the other schools now realize that Bob is happy in Norman.

I'd love to see some more highlights but I can't buy into the notion that this has been anything but a great year for Sooner football.

We are, indeed, spoiled again and have huge expectations. As it should be.

If we are playing the numbers, we are affected by the following:

Oklahoma won national championships in 50, 55, 75, 85 and 00. 56 and 74 were adjacent years to the increments of 5 championship years. We have never won a championship on stand alone years that were not attached to an increment of 5 year. Big 12 Championships came in 00, 02, 04 and 06. We will not win a Big 12 Championship until 08, and if we win a national championship in the next few years, following the pattern, it will by in 09 AND 10 or just 10 or 10 AND 11. The odd thing is that we get the 07 Big 12 game in the South rather than in the Arctic north like in 03, although conversely KU and MU are better than we are right now even though we beat MU.
