This was all over conservative talk radio today.

Someone's head should roll.

Man, thats the biggest bunch of bull**** i have heard in a while. Who has the balls to even come up with these ideas. now if they desert, or flunk the medical , than yea give it back. but to have your eye blown out and your back broke that is bull****. Man this story just ****ed me off.

I say let them to me to court let a jury decide. Do they have workers comp for wounded soldiers?????

i wouldn't have a problem if they were dishon discharge, desert, never made it through basic. But they did serve and were wounded. They couldn't full fill their commitment because of what occured during their service.

the Army is a large organization. A computer has them as getting out before their original ETS date. It's not like his Commander is asking for the money back. It shouldn't have happened but I have faith that it will be corrected.

That's quite disconcerting. I hope that 1TC is right and it is just an error. If not, then it's a total bunch of bull****.

maybe stuff like this is why dirty libz don't want recruiting in their schools

Um yeah, that's got nothing to do with it and I'm pretty sure you know it. ;)

No. Worker's compensation insurance does not cover injuries sustained by war or warlike acts.

Like Mike Said No the the workers comp thing .
Its an entire differant dealio, Wounded and or Injured Military Have a Disibility Rating of from 10 to 100 % Disabled , Based on the VA.rating system
A 10% disabled vet recieves around 100 bucks a month up to about 2500 for 100%. It aint Great but add the other stuff in and it aint to bad either .

Now I tend to also agree with 1TC . This is just another SNAFU with the Military computers , And will be fixed
Just my 02 cents

To add to that, I don't think an unendorsed worker's comp policy covers injuries sustained overseas when the majority of one's job is performed overseas.

Sensationalistic journalism again. It's getting to where we have to research to separate the wheat from the chaff.

FWIW, in my experience, most folks deemed ineligible for continued active duty due to combat wounds are medically retired from the service with pay and full benefits. Additionally, they are eligible for concurrent receipt of their retired pay and VA disability entitlements.

It's been a done deal for quite some time if the disability is "combat related." Thus, I get my VA stuff on top of my retired pay.

The thing that is not a done deal, is if the disability is less than 50% and is deemed NOT combat-related. My understanding is in that case, the vet doesn't get both retired pay and the monthly disability entitlement. However, If the vet is over 50% disabled regardless of the cause, he can draw both. Thus, right now, the magic number for retirees is 50% for non-combat related disability to get both.

No kidding. There was a Master Chief on my ship that had been in for 29 years. I was going on my first deployment, WESTPAC, while he was doing his EIGHTEENTH one. He used to say he'd flushed more seawater than we had been over, and he was probably right.
