View Full Version : I. Maisel/ESPN completely blow off OU/OSU game

In his KO for week 13's great football games/stories columns, Ivan Maisel doesn't even list the OU/osu game as being worth watching. He lists the SEC games on the ABC's/ESPN's competing CBS network (even though he doesn't mention the network) and lists the UW/Wazu game on Fox (but again, not the network), but just completely blows off any mention of the OU/OSU game on Fox at 2:30. What a D*#k. Like if people see a game they want to watch they're not going to check the listings because the ESPN website doesn't show what network it's on. That so bush-league, it's pathetic.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/notebook?page=gamedayKickoff0713http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/8166/screenshot015ty0.jpghttp://img116.imageshack.us/img116/5333/screenshot016qi9.jpghttp://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9793/screenshot017qr1.jpghttp://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9392/screenshot018wn3.jpg

The formatting's not screwed up, I just had to put 4 screenshots together quickly to get the whole page in. Just go to the link if you can't follow it. sheesh.

that's just because it's not much of a rivalry :P

that's just because it's not much of a rivalry That's true, but if Texass wins on Friday, I'll bet there will be a lot of Whorns watching, not to mention the MU and KU fans. I mean, come on. A 4-7 Udub vs a 4-7 Wazu game is worth watching? Even with a win, neither is even going to make a weedeater bowl because they're not bowl eligible or have any meaning to the PAC-10 conference outcome. The only reason Ivan stuck that one in there is because the UW/Hawaii game is on ESPN2 the weekend after this.

okay, so the original poster is screwed up, because instead of oh say

copying and pasting the article with quote tags, he had to do screen shots, and then instead of a verticle alignment, he did horizontal.

oh, and who cares if he didn't list the game, don't we spend 365 days a year telling the ags they're not our rivals?

Dude, when was the last time they beat us?

We have potentially lost our starting QB and best RB and we're still giving 14.

That's lik,e telling NFL fans to tune in the San Francisco/Dallas rivalry in 2007.

The reason I did screenshots of the page in stead of copying and pasting the page was to show the page as it was, in case ESPN decided to change it. However I didn't think someone would be so critical that edges would have to put together absolutely perfectly, but I was careful not to overlap in critical info on the pages and I also didn't have the time. I did see the minor problems but I didn't want to mess with the process of uploading another image to image shack or opening up P-shop to clone the small areas of overlap out. Just in case someone had a minor problem with it, I also put in a link to the original page. Also I personally don't GAS if you neg spek or not, as imo neg-spek is for wimps.

Dude, it's a decent topic. A simple lik would suffice. Thanks.

nothing wrong with the topic, but the fact that the formating is for ****ed up makes it the thread not worth opening

sorry, i'm only using a 19" monitor on high resolution, I doubt my widescreen will display this without having to scroll back and forth.

oh, and who cares if EPSN decides to change the article, quoting it accomplishes the same thing. The only time a screen shot matters is if they do something absolutely screwed up as an article title.

That's interesting. I'm using a 19 inch high resolution widescreen monitor as well and don't have a problem reading it. (it's probably because all my monitors are widescreen LCDs, and I didn't think about it when I took the screenshots. At least now I understand the problem and we're probably looking at the same images, but yours looks distorted and mine looks absolutely--pretty close to perfect if you're on a standard but not widescreen monitor, that is. I'll plug up an old Dell laptop non-widescreen tonight to the net and see what it looks like. If that's the case, then I apologize because I didn't even think about a screenshot on the widescreen/ viewed on a regular--sort of 16x9 vs 4:3 deal---as I've run into a similar distortion problem with trying to decrease the size of an image that contains text down to a smaller size with P-shop or gimp). In any event, there was a link placed just for purpose if someone wanted to read the original so I really don't know what you're complaining about. If you don't want to read the ESPN page underneath the post then just click on the link and go directly to it. It was put in only for reference anyway in case someone read the post tomorrow, followed the link, and ESPN/Maisel had changed, imo, their obvious intentional slight of of the OU/osu game, and thought wth was he thinking, it's right there in the middle of the page.
