$120+tax for 2 sets of controllers???? That's almost half of the initial Wii investment!

Well, it IS the key to the system...

That's kind of what I was thinking.

If you buy a system, you get one of each with the system.

Keep in mind that other system's controllers are a comparable price. I think it's $40-$50 for Xbox and $50 for PS3 controllers, depending on if you want the wire or not.

The overall price of a Wii is cheaper, as are the games (PS3 and 360 games are usually $60, whereas Wii games are usually $50 or less).

I'll be going with the 360 for Halo 3, oblivion, gears of war, etc. etc.

I've already got the Wii plus an extra set of controllers. I was wanting to buy 2 more sets so we could all play at the same time. I'm just trying to justify the extra $120.

Where did you buy them at? Seems awfully high to me.

Yeah, I know that they still can't keep the Wii's in stock, and that they're likely inflating the price for the Festivus season, but STILL...

I haven't bought the extra controllers yet (well, I bought 1 set of extras but I'm wanting 2 more sets). Pretty much everyone has them for the same price.

Wii Remote $39.95
Wii Nunchuk $19.95

Multiply that by 2 and you've got $120. This sucks. I'm sure I'll bite the bullet and get them anyway. You can get them off ebay for less but the sellers are overcharging for shipping so in many cases it ends up being more than just buying them locally.

This has always been the price. For awhile, it was near impossible to find controllers in stores, hence everyone buying the crappy game "Wii Play" to get another controller.

Alas, this is what you will pay, unless you try to get used controllers (don't do it! You have no idea how far those controllers have flown through the air at the television!)

Shoot. There are a couple of stinkers in there, but the "Tanks!" game alone practically justifies the price.

You could choose instead to just go outside and play. That's pretty much free, and it's healthier for you.;)

And that question, my friend, is precisely why childhood obesity is reaching epic proportions here on the fruited plain. It's also the reason a lot of grown-ups have booties as wide as axe handles.;)

That, and fast food drive-thrus and home delivery of prepared fatty food.
