View Full Version : Stopping bleeding

So, I sliced off the very tip of my little finger with a razor about an hour ago and it will not stop bleeding. How the heck does one stop bleeding when it's not a cut or puncture, but a big ol' hunk?

And as a follow-up, what gets blood stains out of carpet?

a. Bowl of ice water. It will hurt like hell, but it'll stop.

b. call Will

I second the "bowl of ice water" suggestion.

For the carpet, sprinkle table salt over the stain and mop it up with a cloth soaked in a combination of 1/2 hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 water.

If your bloodstream was full of alcohol it may be days before it stops. Have another Natty and call Will.

A. quit being a *****

and were you shaving your knuckles?

and call Will. heh.

Attention to Detail rawks carpet stains, and they have a killer new van.

From a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL... hold firm pressure for 5 minutes. If it doesn't stop bleeding, you made need stitches if the cut is deep enough.

Also, hydrogen peroxide will get blood out, but you may want to dilute it down with water, otherwise it may lighten the color of your carpet, which may not be a good thing if it's dark.

With a razor? like while you were shaving? I am trying to picture how one cuts of the tip of their little finger? Ouch.

Did you save the part that was cut off? Maybe it can be reattached. :D

And as a mother, kisses always help too. Have someone kiss it.

Sorry about your finger, hope it is ok and you don't get in trouble for getting blood on the carpet.

given that he cut himself with a razor, i'd say it's prolly "pubic highlights".

I was putting away my travel shaving kit and the tip of my pinky fanger caught my Mach 3 and stayed there. I just looked at it and it was still there. :D

Thanks for the suggestions, but I rubbed some dirt on it.

Super glue!

Seriously. I'm assuming it shaved the tip off, as in not a cut, but a chunk taken entirely from the tip? (hyuk hyuk hyuk)

Clean it up real good and cover it in super glue. It's gonna sting like a son of a biscuit, so heads up. But I guarantee you'll be hard pressed to find something better to not only stop the bleeding, but protect the sore spot until it has a chance to heal.

bright side note:

9 more times and your "finger-prints-on-file" records are useless.

It'll open up a whole new list of career changes you can make.

Instead of superglue, you can use nuskin. It stings less.

That reminds me, when I was in highschool, a fellow student cut his foot off whilst 3-wheeling. The old barb-wire around the axle trick, anyway, this was the same time that Kenny Loggins had a hit with "Footloose". Poor guy. ;)

They did re-attach it.
