yeah, a "hero" sandwich is totally different from a "gyro" (which is correctly pronounced "yee-row" as 1TC said.)

onions, hot sauce. I think you mean Tzatziki, tzadziki, or tsatsiki (τζατζίκι) ;)

Yee-row.

And tzatziki is also really good with seared tuna.

I've always heard it referred to as a gyros - yee-rows. Both singular and plural.

PSA: Kids, these are the kinds of thoughts your mind will entertain when you overuse your pain meds.

As opposed to the incredibly profound thoughts our minds entertain when we're NOT on pain meds? :)

I've always heard it referred to as a gyros - yee-rows. Both singular and plural. :confused:it should actually have the s on the end, but Americans tend to apply english rules to foreign words and leave the s off, thinking it means plural.

There was this place a few doors down from the old Lovelight Restaurant on Jenkins and Boyd, that had european pastries and mediterrianean sandwiches. Can't recall its name.

The gyros were GREAT. Looked like this:

If you're at the corner of Jenkins and Boyd to get a gyros and don't go to Greek Houe, you're silly.

I call it gyro like gyroscope. Jye row. I'm from Oklahoma. I'm not going to go all Giada and try to correctly Euro pronounce stuff.
