What advantages or disadvantages will there be for the team playing on turf tonight? Is it a factor? How big? Does anyone know the Sooners record on turf? Discuss.

Turf = easier to twist ankles and knees and things.

Turf is faster...equally for both teams.

We're playing on THEIR turf.

See the problem with West Texas is that you can't grow any damn thing there except cotton and mesquite. Not even grass.

We do just fine on turf historically. I have a piece of the turf from Owen Field from when they tore it up in the '90s. If you bring beer when you come to the house, I'll let you touch it.

The turf on my yard looks pretty good, I just have to deplete our quickly diminishing water supply.

Reminds me of a Tug McGraw quote

When asked in 1974 whether he preferred natural grass or artificial turf, he replied "I don't know, I never smoked AstroTurf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AstroTurf)",

didn't our starting center have a career ender on our last trip to sand aggie?

Is it that hard to grow grass in West Texas?

Yes, they import most of theirs from Austin.

Football was meant to be played on grass. I'm not a big fan of FieldTurf, either; I think high school teams should be banned from playing on it, unless it's a playoff game at a neutral site.
