the beautiful voice of Eva Cassidy. She was diagnosed with skin cancer in 1993, didn't follow up for doctor's appointments, and eventually died in 1996. I really don't mind if no one post in this thread, just wanted to share her beautiful voice with you. She is a favorite of mine. Hope you enjoy!!

thanks vet - don't think she is really well known. If you listen to the whole "lives at Blues Alley" she does a beautiful rendition of "Over the Rainbow" she is fantastic!

Im still listening to it . She makes me think of a Female Johnny Horton .

wow - haven't thought of Johnny Horton in forever!! Why do you suppose it is that the great ones always die young. I think Horton was 33 when he died and Eva Cassidy was 36. I think my favorite Johnny Horton song was "North To Alaska"

Even though I am infamous for my "poo" threads - I do have a cultural side. I majored in music education in University. I was a voice major and minored in piano. I do love music of all kinds!!

Her cover of Paul Simon's "American Tune" is incredible. A tremendous talent, gone too young.
