Tom Osborne --> Steve Owens
Clownahan-->Smellsofbourbon
Turner Gill-->John Blake
Pellini(?)-->Stoops

I know there are a few differences, but it's almost like flashing back 10-12 years. Does Osborne repeat our mistakes and hire Gill, or does he learn from our mistakes and try to duplicate our hiring of Stoops and go with Pellini?

I am fascinated by watching history possibly repeat itself.

I wouldn't either if I were him. If I were him, I'd make them cough of Stoops like money if I did due to the way that they treated him before.

I can see it now....Osborne hires Gill, Gill immediately announces a switch back to the option run from the I...the masses go nuts.....

Nebbish is HURTIN' in recruiting right now. #4 QB prospect (Gabbert) recently switched his verbal from the Husk to the Mizzou.

Even with a new coach, they have some major work to do. At least when Blakey left, the cupboard was not completely bare.

I think he is referring to Owens being the AD at Oklahoma for a time

I've always thought it was more like this:

Osborn = Switzer... two great coaches

Solich = Gibbs... good by most schools standards but not up to the standards set by their predecessors

Callahan = ***************... These guys ran their respective programs into the ground

Nebraska's Next Coach = Blake... Made a bad situation worse

Nebraska's 2nd Next Coach = Stoops... Back to greatness

Since Osborn retired I've been saying Nebraska would follow the same path as OU but I didn't think it would be exactly this close so far. I just meant that the next coach would do well but not well enough and get fired but it seems they are following even closer to me.

I would like to see Neb do that again. It would be good to see Nebraska do what they do best.
