Within the last week, someone posted a terrific pic of an OU player, I think it was Allen Patrick, holding the football aloft after the onside kick.

I can't remember which thread the pic was in, and have searched for it, but can't find it. If anyone could re-post the picture here, or a link to the thread, I would greatly appreciate it. There is someone I would very much like to show that picture to...

There's an even better one where you can see the Ref digging in the pile in the background.

Edit: Found it...

Should be titled: First down OREGON!
This picture is destined to be a classic. There is NO explanation why the ref gave possesion to Oregon without ever seeing the ball.

Yeah, and when we win the national title I wish Bob Stoops was arrogant enough to have Allen Patrick come up on the stand, grab the crystal football and hold it up while Coach Stoops says, "Hey, Oregon...it's our ball now!"

That would be the greatest thing that will NEVER happen! But a boy can dream!

The real question is why didnt allen patrick take the ball and run it to the end zone. Then the refs would have no choice but to realize he had the ball. Im sure the coaches went over stuff like that after the game. We wont see our guys standing around with the ball on an important play ever again.

Patrick couldn't run to the end zone because he actually fell on the ball which was laying on the ground between one of our players feet, he then popped up and held the ball up. Which is when this picture was taken. He and the other OU players should have run right up to a ref. and showed them the ball, however how did the refs. that were down field not see Patrick holding the ball up in the air like that??? Total screw job!

Don't relive it, boys...too painful. In spite of all that and with the Bomar situation and AD's injury, 11-3 and Big 12 champs was a fantastic season.

Thanks very much for the photos! It was the second one that I saw posted this weekend, but the first one is a classic as well.

An argument/excuse you hear from Duck fans is that an Oregon player had quickly fallen down onto the ball and let go of it so Oregon had possession of it for an instant before AP did therefore the play was dead before AP ever had the ball.

It's amazing what some people living in denial will dream up do contradict the obvious.

This retort doesn't address the facts that:

A) The ball was initially touched by an Oregon player,

B) The ball never went 10 yards.

Really? So they'll be playing a BCS top 5 team, in a Championship game shortly before the final BCS rankings come out? huh

Arizona just returned a punt for a touchdown, there was a flag on the play and after further review, the refs decided "there is no flag on the play - TOUCHDOWN"

I think that is a great picture of you right about now, Quack 10

I've never understood why he is walking away with it & did not show it to the ref. But yes, that crew should never see a field again.

And there's a video from the endzone angle that blows that excuse out of the water. It wasn't an ABC vid, it circulated a few days after the game. The ball squirted right out, it wasn't possessed by anybody before AP picked it up.

I still think the Nike dude is trying to buy a program for Oregon in a more under-the-table way than T Boner. I would like to see a little light shed on the behind the scenes things at uo. I think they just might be the SMU of the Pac-10.
