Understand you've got a little wind down there today. Forecast for Saturday in Lubbock calls for SSW winds at 10-12 with gusts up to 20.

With the way Sam struggled with the wind at ISU, I hope they've got him out there chucking it around today....

IMO this is going to be a very tough game. Personally, I wouldn't touch the 9 spread unless it was to lay money on Tech (to cover, not necessarily win).

Some of you bettin' types chime in...

Is that all? That's a gentle breeze around here. It was a helluva lot windier the day of the Iowa State game, at least around here. And there's not a damn thing to slow down the wind between here and Ames.

I just came in from outside and those are some strong winds here in OKC.

That wind in Iowa put the game out of reach for them......

Well, the wind in Lubbock was fierce this morning, probably sustained winds of 35 with higher gusts, lots of dust in the air, but it has calmed down to around 26 MPH with gusts up to 40. I think this system is supposed to be gone by Saturday and the winds aren't going to be too bad, but then of course the forecast could change.

two years ago the wind was insane in Lubbock

What would Murray's 40 time be with a tailwind?

He would actually travel back in time.

I can't conceive of playing at OU and not being wind-savvy...it sure played havoc with my golf game when I lived in OKC many moons ago.

Wind won't effect the run game....Which is what I hope see from OU in Lubbock this weekend.....I hope we eat that clock up with sustained drives on the ground.....

I'm about an hour and a half north of Lubbock and if he was running here today from north to south he might clock in the 3.-somethings.

Does anyone really think that TT can stop DM? If the winds are too bad we can always run it on them.

Sam is from OKC. He's use to throwing in the wind. The problem at Iowa State was not the wind. He said it was being anxious on the road after the Colorado loss.

It is very windy and cold today. It should be warmer in TX, maybe ...

they've been trying to do that the whole season with mixed results.

we'd better be able to pass or we won't be able to open up the running game.

i'm actually pretty worried about this game.

Betting type here.

Based on Bob on the road in the Big 12.

Based on OU on the road this year.

Based on Sam's performance at Colorado and Iowa State.

yeah...take Tech to cover.

I'm of the opinion that Demarco will have a huge day...an all time kinda game. Tech will stop our run for about the first 3 possessions and after that Demarco will average over 10 yards a carry and open up the passing game which will be great, but the run will be our greatest asset Saturday. They will be unable to even DREAM about stopping Demarco as he runs for over 200 yards and 4 TDs while the other backs have great games as well.

I can see a halfback pass working pretty well too. Reasoning? If it's windy, your best shot at a long pass is to get somebody .... say Malcolm Kelly, really wide open so that he can adjust to the ball. A halfback pass might just do that if the coverage gets sucked in.
Of course, this could just be my unnatural hunger to see Kelly score a ridiculously open touchdown.
I'll admit to that.
