Casey's Shadow, quarter horse racing set in Louisianna but the movie ends at the All American Futurity in New Mexico.
Great movie, and the one with Dakota Fanning reminds me of it everytime I see it.

Oh and for TUSooner, "A day at the races" :D

This poll needs to be killed and re-started with more choices.

A Day At The Races and Let It Ride are absolute must-haves for any comedy collection, regardless of the horse racing connection.

Seabiscuit was masterfully done although there were certainly some liberties taken with the facts. Basically, I thought the movie was a great story that was generously sprinkled with truth. The manner in which the film was shot was incredible.

Dreamer, while compelling, lacked in the realism department, but is still an excellent movie.

Not a horse racing movie, but does anyone else remember the sappy movie from the '90s "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken"? It was where the girl rode the horse off a high-dive.

I'm sorry folks. Any film that has Bobcat Goldwaith (sp?) in it trumps all others of the same genre.
Here's an example, Police Academy > Untouchables

Black Stallion. I agree. Hands down. Not all about racing but the best horse movie I have ever seen. I cried through a majority of the movie. But I cry at most movies.

I rented it a while back for my little one who loves horses.

Agreed. And with the exception of Seabiscuit, it's not even close. Not. Even. Close.
