Why did he take the job there anyway! Should have waited for the Nebraska/A&M jobs. Better chance of success! Maybe not at A&M but whatever!

IF Chuck could Win the next 3 games they would be in some minor bowl somewhere..??

I also think he should have waited for a better job - but also kinda glad he didn't...... (Who Knows ?)

He's got TCU and BYU still to come, so I don't think he turns in a winning season. If SDSU goes 6-6, do they have a chance for a bowl bid? I guess it comes down to conference tie-ins, but I don't think Chuck goes bowling this year.

Of course, KU went 6-6 and missed a bowl last year, so that's not saying too much.

Here's my assessment on Stoops disciples out there --

1. MANGINO: Brought KU to national contention, will hopefully be coaching at a football school next year (preferably not A&M or Nebraska)

2. LEACH: So-so successful, a worthy heir to Spyke Dykes, done about all he could do at Lubbock. Natural born pirate. Hard to see him moving anywhere much more impressive than Tech.

3a. M STOOPS: Hard to celebrate his desert achievements, but he faced such a massive rebuilding effort that it's equally hard to condemn his record. Things will be clearer a year from now, but he doesn't get another head coaching job for now.

3b. LONG: Assessment same as Mike, but with a little less optimism "long"-term. SDSU is a tough gig.
