Ok, we know there's a building on fire. If it's such a dangerous situation, then how come Channels 4 & 9 aren't covering it as much.

I feel for those of you who are trying to watch regularly scheduled programming tonight.

But in all honesty, they tend to elaborate on stories and break in way too much than the other news stations.

for undisclosed reasons my wife taped the channel 5 coverage for me. the inaccuracies are ridiculous. And, their talking heads are half-retarded.

It is sweeps month isn't it? That would explain all the stupid stories they're advertising on the radio.

Things must have changed since I was living in the OKC area full time because KFOR was always the ridiculous sensationalists that always seemed to try and scare young parents and the elderly.

I haven't watched any local news in about 5 years, but at that time they still were. Maybe KOCO has taken the crown.

EDIT: Mike Morgan is still a ridiculous sensationalist no matter what.

It was a building under construction on the OUHSC campus.

Nobody in it.

Keep us updated at commercials or if anything cool happens (fireworks, smoke signals, etc). Otherwise. Meh.

I am sure there was one person who saw that report and was like "damn" so KOCO did the right thing and p*ssed off 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of their viewing audience for that one guy.

Edit: Ah hell, who am I kidding, they probably only ****ed of 50% of their viewing audience, the one other person watching KOCO

For all the crappy TV programming we complain about, you can be sure that there are plenty of people who aren't complaining or else they wouldn't be showing it.

as soon as they said it was a building under construction and there were no injuries at that point, i wondered why the hell it was so important. not to say it doesn't suck when big things catch on fire, but the idea that it's important enough to break into the middle of programming so that everybody can know RIGHT NOW, is a little silly.

honestly, even if it had been an occupied building and there were a bunch of people trapped inside, should they have broken in to show coverage? I don't think so. If you knew people who lived there and didn't already know about the fire, it would serve more to panic you rather than inform you.

There's such a ridiculous rush to get the news first, it's often lacking in content and accuracy.

Fire at a building under construction. Who would know how to set fire to one of those?
What are you trying to tell us, Andy?

My favorite part was when the reporter was trying to decipher the pattern of the fire, how big it was going to get, and where it was headed next.
