in the next 5 1/2 -6 years? The sinifigance of this is of course that Bob would have a career mark of 158-29.That would surpass Barry's 157-29-4 mark and the winning % of.845 would surpass Barry's mark of .837.I'm not saying what Bob's record will be over the next 72 games but I do think he will break Barry's victory record. The % record will be a little tougher, but IS within reach too.

I did not mention pro football or any football. If he gets another NC he might decide to retire or go down another avenue.

Barry started out 31-1-1. If Bob puts together a string like somewhere along the way, that he has a pretty good shot. Of course if Bob has a tie in his record, there will be some 'splainin to do.

In the book The Undefeated the author relates having a conversation with DKR about Bud. DKR took a napkin, wrote 94-4-2 on it gave it to the author. Pretty amazing record for a new coach.

he was 69-11 from 2000 to 05...60-7 from 2000 to 04.....I could see him achieving 63-9

I believe Bob's first season should be written off. Look what he had to do when he came to Norman. Plus the scholarship limits. I think what he has done is remarkable. (Cept a couple of losses that blow the mind)

Yes because 1)they are under appeal.2)The F'ing NCAA can kiss my crimson a$$ before I vacate those wins.

Alb,Barry started out 32-1-1(1973 10-01,1974 11-0,1975 11-1).

peamous: Why would Bob leave? There is NO better college job where Bob can win more than he does at OUAND he has alraedy turned away Iowa(alma mater),TOSWU(home state team,ND9self-proclaimed kings),UF(where he coached with good buddy Spurrier).

As for the NFL,Bob has watched as Saban failed and as his good friend Spurrier bit the dust in the NFL.I'm not saying he will never try the NFL but given his prority on family I think that will be after his boys are out of HS and in college(I think Isaac and Drake are 8 or 9 now).McKenzie who is older would proably be out of college by that time.

Bob is currently 27 wins from tying Bennie Owen(122-54-16) for third place on the OU victories list and 50 wins from tying Bud(145-29-4) for second. In Bob's third season or so I said that if Bob stayed long enough to reach Owen's record that he would stay to surpass Bud,Barry and I still hold to that.

Btw as i said in another thread a couple of months ago, when Bob reaches 100 victories next year,OU will become the first program to have 4 coaches with 100 wins at their school.

Well i know we should be good the next 2 years, but ive never really thought beyond that.

Who knows for sure, but I think he's putting down some roots . . . and there are Coaches who do that sort of thing. The Paterno and Bowdens of the world.

I think he might give the pro thing a shot, at some point. But it's probably 60/40 or higher that he stays right here and finishes a long career right here.

If he does happen to leave, I think Castiglione has proven himself to have a good judge of coaching talent . . . so nothing to fear. No person is bigger than the program - no player, no coach. no one.

Any source?

Everything I've heard is that he has no intentions of leaving anytime soon.

I'm hoping for him to fulfill his current contract as well as a nice extension.
When does his current contact end again?
