IN BT's article over the end of the 47 game winning streak:




Not every OU fan was so sporting. The next week, a letter to The Oklahoma City Times called for Wilkinson's removal as head coach. At the time, his record in the previous 48 games was 47-1.

Some things really don't change. I understand we're Sooners and no one wants to win every game by 50 points more than I do, but this really does sound like some of the never satisfied doomsayers I see posting around here from time to time.

To put the circumstances more complete perspective Bud's record entering that game was 105-8-4 with 3 National Titles and 10 conference Titles.
