Nice Sammy. Also should beat Mccoy's record this week at Tech. Keep in mind that record Mccoy had was THREW the bowl game, so Sam has 4 games to rack up TD's.

Has any noticed Sams name doesnt get mentioned anymore amongst the talking heads? I like that, because it keeps us in the shadows and out of the light that seems to destroy a teams chemistry and level headedness.

^^ Its mentioned all the time in post-game interviews. The good team knows how to deal with it.

Yeah, Sammy has the goods.

I can't even imagine next year.

With Allen Patrick gone Demarco should get a lot more carries and then Sam and Demarco should be mentioned for the Heisman.

We should have a GOOD shot at making the National Championship next year, and maybe this year.

Not that we need to compare him to a Texas player, but for those Longhorns who were claiming Colt McCoy had the greatest year ever for a freshman QB last year:

.............Att........Comp......Comp %......Yards.....TDs.....Ints....
Colt.......318........217...........68.2.......... .2570.....29.......7
Sam.......264........185...........70.1..........2 509......28......6

Not sure what Colt's Pass Efficiciency Rating was, but if it was higher than 180.4, I'd be extremely impressed.

Especially since Yards Per Attempt is a big part of the equation, and apparently Sam's is better since he's thrown for about the same yardage as Colt last year with 50 less attempts.

Colt and Sam both seem to be pretty level headed guys. I hope that Sam does not have the sophomore slump that Colt faced.

The question on Colt (and by extension, Sam) is how good are they really?

Colt's struggled because his all-world OLine left him for the NFL.

How much of Sam's success is Sam being a great QB, and how much is it that you could put basically anyone behind that line and have some success because those guys can pass block like a mother. Of children (sorry...needless and non-humorous jab at OSU).

We have a very good Team.

I think most folks have to agree that Sam is getting the time he needs to build confidence and improve on his game.

It's fantastic that he's logging the Stats he is too.

I'm pumped to see him win 2 Heisman's and become the 2nd Player ever to do it.

Hey if he wins this year or even gets to go on the trip...I'm all for it.

I just care more about the Team Trophies than the Heisman, Obrien, Maxwell....

Offensive Lineman should get some credit for allowing sam the time to be accurate.

Way to go Sammy. #3 on that list is next week!

Too bad Sam is no Matt Ryan. I mean, 3 picks at home vs. FSU, two last night in a loss to almighty Maryland and two more before showing up for final two minutes at Va Tech is much better than Sam!

It's really too bad HornFans locked the "I think Bradford kind of sucks" thread. It was great to have that roll back up each week.

If 20 for 24 and 357 yds with 3 TD's doen't rate a helmut sticker from the ESPN boys, then they can kiss my grits. AHHH yes, the Sooners played on FSN and I'm reminded that they don't stump for the rival network regardless how great the day.

The BIG EASY for the HEISMAN!!!!

With the O-line returning and most of the skill players, I don't see a big drop off next year. It's Sam's junior that worries me when he will have a totally rebuilt O-line. Much like Colt went through this season. It's amazing how a "QB slump" is equated to O-Line issues.

They're on ABC this week. And he should roll on that Tech defense.

All NCAA records run through the completion of bowl season. The NCAA did not make this retroactive to be fair to players in the past.OU however did change the school recordbooks to be retroactive. That is why Billy Sims moved ahead of Little Joe for#1 long after both were gone fron OU.

Now cfn has the Clemson QB in their top ten and they still love Darren McFadden who is obviously not a difference maker. Sam stands at about number 11 since they reserve number ten for a sideshow...this week being the North Texas QB. Oh, and Sam is listed behind Eric Freaking Ainge!!

I calculate Colt's rating for last year at 161.82 using the stats you have above.

(tot yards*8.4 + completions*100 + TDs*330 - Int*200) / Attempts

For Sam to finish with an identical rating, assuming he continues to pass 26 times a game and average 9.5 per attempt and 4 more games he would need:

1 TD pass per game,
1 Int per game,
30% completion rate, or 7.8 passes a game of his 26 attempts,

Then he finishes the season with a 161.83 rating.

SI.com's Gene Menez's Heisman Top 10. No Bradford listed. But he has Mike Hart at 5, Jonathan Stewart at 7 and Matt Ryan at 8th. Amazing.

I was thinking about Sam and his rookie year versus that of the previous car detailer. Remember the terrible game against UCLA and then in the Tulsa game, Rhett was not allowed to throw at all, at least in the second half.

Sam has been a world of difference.

And remember spring ball and the preseason when we were told daily, all 3 are doing a great job; they are about equal;...

I hope you're being sarcastic. Murray had two plays in the top plays on sportscenter. Yeah, they hate us. Kiper has a column about Gresham fyi.
