Oregon will be playing BYE on the same day as the CCG so a win over a top 5 BCS team and a 12-1 record could very likely get the now over 11-1.

I do think tha prior to today KU had every bit as good of a case to be #1 as tOSU if you were comparing the teams objectively.

In the end it won't matter KU controls their destiny. They won't finish 3rd in the BCS if they win out.

That doesn't work this year. How many of the Top 10 teams that have lost this year were beat by unranked teams? Geez, tOSU was like the 7th Top 5 team to be knocked off by an uranked team this year. The way this season has been, it's been worse for teams to play unranked teams.

Based on the AP poll since week 3 or 4, here are some then-ranked Top 10 teams that lost to then-unranked teams:
Boston College lost to Florida State
Florida lost to Auburn
USC lost to Stanford
Oklahoma lost to Colorado
Ohio State lost to Illinois
California lost to Oregon State
Texas lost to Kansas State
Wisconsin lost to Illinois
Rutgers lost to Maryland

Sure, until Week 6 or 7, I think a "weak schedule" says a lot. However, looking at the number of Top 10 teams that were knocked off by unranked teams, it still says a lot to get through most of the season unbeaten in a BCS conference. Sure, they may not have yet played much in the way of quality teams, but they also haven't yet been knocked off by much weaker teams, something that can't be said of a dozen Top 10 teams throughout this year. OU has played a tougher schedule, but we also lost to an unranked team. Give KS their due -- it still takes work to beat 10 consecutive teams and remain undefeated, even if those are mostly unranked teams.

Regardless, it is certainly in the best interest of OU for Kansas to win the next couple of weeks. If we want to have any hope of hoping to the #2 spot, we will need to knock off a Top 3 team in the Big XII championship. Knocking off #1 will look that much better! I'm cheering for KU every chance I get -- until the B12 Championship, obviously! Then again, the way OU has played in terms of consistency this year (i.e. Colorado and Iowa State were terrible games), I think we just need to worry about OUs own games first. I'm always scared when we play OSU and TTU...

Kansas is a good team; please dont underestimate them. This team has beat Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Texas A&M all on the road. In my opinion that is a pretty good resume. Plus, they are going to curb stomb Missouri in two weeks.

Sure I noticed. It's blatantly obvious when their opponents are 39-51. Only two of them have a winning record, both at 6-4. Of course, thats not counting the 1-aa opponent.

OSU played nobody (Yes the Big 10 is nobody this year) and was ranked #1 for 1/2 the season. The only decent teams they played were Wisconsin and Illinois, the equivalent of OK St and A&M. Only, Ohio State lost one of those and Kansas didn't. It didn’t matter if people FELT OSU was the best team or not, what mattered was that they were undefeated and a BCS team.
Only a hypocrite would vote OSU #1 for those reasons and not KU for the same reason. Since every game IS like a playoff, you put the undefeated team, with the best record at the top and let the others try and knock them off.
Personally, I don’t think LSU is the best team in their conference and will lose in the SEC championship game, should I not vote them # 1 because of that, NO you keep them there because they have the best record in their conference.

Meh, pay no attention to the inSECstrious crowd. Their ****ed because their league is being exposed as being a bunch of mid to good level teams. The SEC clogs up the 15-25 spots on the T25. Yes, our league has more bottom feeders than SEC but it also has more top level teams. 3 of the top 5 is unreal.

LSU homers will argue wins over T25 teams but they have no wins over (current) top 10 teams. All those in conference teams are now hovering around 17, 18 & 24. (Bama's dropping out and Miss St. ain't moving in given their record)

By contrast, OU has conference wins over a current #6 Mizzou and # 15 Texas. Not as many T25 wins, but better ones.

Meh, pay no attention to the inSECstrious crowd. Their ****ed because their league is being exposed as being a bunch of mid to good level teams. The SEC clogs up the 15-25 spots on the T25. Yes, our league has more bottom feeders than SEC but it also has more top level teams. 3 of the top 5 is unreal.

LSU homers will argue wins over T25 teams but they have no wins over (current) top 10 teams. All those in conference teams are now hovering around 17, 18 & 24. (Bama's dropping out and Miss St. ain't moving in given their record)

By contrast, OU has conference wins over a current #6 Mizzou and # 15 Texas. Not as many T25 wins, but better ones.

Sorry if you feel that way. I started posting on this board shortly b4 the national champ game in '03 and until yesterday, hadn't posted since june of '04. I had a great time with the posters then and had a great reputation myself as a visiting fan. I thought this was a good time since we both have common interest.

I see why you would want to compare the two losses, but they aren't even close.

Colorado is unranked at 5-6, and has 4 losses to unranked teams. In fact, their only win over a ranked team is you. Im sorry, but that was a horrible loss.

Meanwhile, Kentucky is 7-3 with wins over two ranked teams. They've only lost to 1 unranked team in Miss. St. who may be ranked when the polls come out today. Add they have a heisman contention QB and that we lost in triple OT, there's a big difference. Not flaming its just true.

Thats a hard one man. I mean... we have some studs at the RB position. Like Keliand Williams. He's awsome. At first it was like Miles was rewarding Hester for hard practices, but then he started winning games with his legs.
