My wife had some errands this afternoon and she assured me that she set the DVR to record the game just in case we were a few minutes late.

When we got home the little red light wasn't on and the game was NOT being recorded. Fortunately the DVR was on the right channel and I was able to rewind live TV all the way back to the beginning of the game and start recording from there.

Best invention ever.

When we got our 1st DVR my wife rolled her eyes with the usual "great, another electronic toy". Now she would freak if I decided to unplug it. It totally changes how you watch TV.

I don't even consider going out before the game.

My wife is the same way, she is out in Midland/Monahans right now because her dad had surgery. She was watching TV and even today made the comment about how there is no pause/rewind or guide on the TV out there. You have to go to the TV Guide channel and wait for the whole thing to scroll through....and I would classify her as a technophobe.

Pretty much the same thing for me.

We got our second TIVO this year. It's great. My wife and I are never in the same room. It has made my marriage bearable.

We have an SD-DirecTivo in the bedroom and the DirecTV HD-DVR in the living room.

We don't have TIVO on the tv in our bedroom, and it drives my daughter crazy. I pull the old "back in my day, we had to change channels by hand" story. She's unamused since my story doesn't help rewind Little Einsteins.

People have TVs in their bedrooms? Freaky.

You need SOMETHING to do when she fakes a headache.

Heh. I guess if I'm gonna watch tv, I'd rather just walk into the other room and crash on the couch. Propping myself up in bed always gives me a sore neck.

yeah, but there is something to be said for making the spouse miserable when she gives you the Heisman.
