Murray also tends to try to get a little too fancy in short yardage situations, though he's learning (expected of a freshman) so UPS is the back of choice for the punch plays and has been all season.

i am having a hard time with our overall performance. One game our D will play lights out, and the next we make awful teams look great. We obviously have talent, but our full potential is being wasted on poor defensive schemes. Our offinsive line hasn't applied pressure all game and our secondary seems to be caught out of position. Is this the players' faults or are our D-coaches just ignorant? I see these moments of greatness, overshadowed by spats of inconsistancy.

Granted, I am more than excited that we are up in this game, but I hate that we are allowing 300+ yards in the first half to a team that only everages 340something per game. I really want a shot at the title, but i'm hesitant due to our inability to play consistant. am I wrong?

Bizarre Big 12 season. Clownahan is asked to resign and Nebraska looks all world today. FGFran is supposedly asked to resign, and aTm looks pretty good against Missouri. Now Guy Moriss is supposedly out and Baylor and they look like they're taking the fight to us on the LOS, and their speed guys are blowing right thru our guys and making our D look slow. The Tech game is just scaring the cheet out of me. I'd feel a whole lot better if our OL was blowing huge holes in the Baylor D so DM wouldn't have to cut back behind the lOS then break 2 or 3 tackles on great individual effort to score and our D wasn't giving up 307 in the 1st half to Baylor....AT OUR HOUSE. 307 yards in the 1st half. That's just ridiculous. I really hope Bob is chewing butt at halftime and our guys are embarrassed and we come out and kick some Baylor azz.

Let me guess... we're playing zone defense...I can't figure out how a defensive minded guy like Stoops plays so much zone defense. Especially when we can't get any pressure on the QB.

so if you are a defensive minded guy, you don't play zone defense? we've been through this before a thousand times, you can't play complicated man/zone schemes with the incredibly limited amount of practice time that the coaches get - a little over 500 hours a year spread over the entire year. oh, that includes weight training and skill training too. that also includes film and meetings.
