If this show wants to take the next step they drop old man Corso and end the side show that is his act...and bring on Jesse Palmer. He is actually very talented on air and has good analysis...which is aided by his having Sam Bradford second in his Heisman poll!!! :)

Fowler, Palmer and Herbie would be a solid lineup. Let Lee do a segment walking around with the fans acting like a sideshow.

We have a big thrift store a few miles out of town where I'm at, and one day last summer I was looking at some T-shirts and they had a few Wabash T-shirts signifying the team's conference championship and Monon Bell victory. 4th and goal from the 5, and Field Goal Fran kicks it again. What's he got to lose by either going for it or faking it. Has Fran gone for it even once this year? sheeesh. pass, then run Japorky up the middle, then run laterally on 3rd and still short. Booger Boy throws one up for grabs instead of running for the 1st down. Maybe Fran will get Less Miles lucky in this one.

Just saw this on another board about the ISU/CU game.
Strange ending: Iowa State over Colorado
Iowa State wins 31-28. CU kicks a 55-yard FG on the last play of the game to apparently send the game into OT. Officials then decide that the clock had expired before the snap. and just read this on NetBuffs
Subject: The Officials Must Be Fined.....for their performance at the end of the game. As a dead ball
penalty, the clock should not have started until the ball was
snapped on the second field goal. The Big 12 must investigate. This is going to be an interesting to watch on the Big 12 highlights.

The Buffs didn't shoot their wad against us. They suck and all their losses prove it. I still get sick thinking we can't hold a 17 point second half lead to those clowns and that is the ONLY reason we are not the unanimous number one and in complete control of our destiny. Because of that, I have to pull for the likes of Illinois, Arizona, Oregon State, Ole Miss, etc. Annoying...

So was it a proper call? or did the Big 12 refs screw the pooch again? Crap, I forgot all about Versus this morning or I would've had it on the Aux monitor.

Well, here is what happened. Colorado was out of timeouts and they threw a pass on 3rd and 2 for about a yard and the guy got tackled in bounds. This all happened around the 18 second mark. Well, Colorado started lining up to spike the ball when they realized it was fourth down. So players started sprinting off the field while the kicking team came running out. It was about a 50 yarder. The Buffs snapped it, kicked it and split the uprights to tie the game. But wait...

The refs threw a flag and called a delay of game penalty because apparently the Buffs snapped the ball before it was marked ready for play. So is that a dead ball foul? Does the clock start again once spotted? The refs went to the replay to see how much time was left and put a second on the clock. The five yard penalty made it a 55 yarder.

So the Buffs lined up...the refs blew the whistle to start the clock and the Buffs immediately snapped it. The kick was up and good from 55. But wait...

The refs stated that the clock had started and reached double zero before the snap so the game was over. Some CU player, number 70 and an offensive lineman was THIS CLOSE to hitting the ref and was right up in his grill. Dan Hawkins stood there speechless. And that was that.

Great pick, Illini! 22:30 minutes to go! Score again!

aurorasooner
11/10/2007, 05:37 PM
Interesting cat fight between the ISU and CU fans over on the conversation board of the ESPN scoreboard of the CU/ISU score.
Let's look at the facts:

On CU's last offensive play, Tyson DeVree was tackled inbounds with over 15 seconds left on the clock. They got the field goal unit on the field, kicked the ball and made the field goal. They were then called for delay of game because they snapped the ball before the ball was set. First point: It took the refs OVER 15 seconds to set the ball? At the end of a 3 point game??? Are you kidding me???

Second point: Ball is reset, CU is moved back 5 yards, one second is put back on the clock. Refs give every indication that the upcoming kick will be made on an untimed down. CU snaps the ball, makes the kick, game set for overtime... then the refs get together and say that the ball wasn't snapped until after the clock had run out. No whistle was blown, no indications of the game being over occurred until after the kick had already been made. Replays show that CU got the ball snapped before the clock ran out, but the refs don't review the single most critical play of the game anyway. Why? What's their motive?

Bull. ####. Call. There's no two ways about it. The Buffs got #### over.

Perhaps most famously, in a 1991 game against Notre Dame, a Stanford band member dressed as a nun conducted the band using a crucifix for a baton. The Fighting Irish indefinitely suspended Stanford from their stadium. The band kept it up, and in a 1997 game at Stanford, members parodied the Irish Potato Famine with a skit featuring Seamus O'Hungry.
