View Full Version : OU Game or an "A" Average?

So, I'm faced with a problem.

I realized that I have a major history exam on Monday morning. I desperately need to study for this; because, my grade is hovering in the upper 80's and I really want an A in this class.

Now I'm very conflicted on whether to drive up there or not, what say you?
If I don't study for this exam then I'd put my grade in the mid-C range.

You better study because you can't even post a decent poll at this point.

It's not that I'm trying to back out of something........again, but this exam is fairly important.

I could study at the game.

You should probably study. Being as you are getting a worthless degree you'll need to have as high a GPA as you can to get a decent job after college.

Should I go or should I stay?

Yes
No

WTF kinda pole is this?

As stated earlier...it looks like you should just stay home and study...

lol, I didn't notice that until now...
Presumably the "yes" would be go and "no" would be to stay.

I didn't put a great deal of thought into this!

If you haven't studied enough to do well already, you're boned.

Studying between now and Saturday is kinda spinnin' your wheels.

alex, i'll take "irrelevant to real life" for $1000.

son, go to the game. i can promise you, the only time you'll need this kind of knowledge is filling in the "brown pie" slice in trivial pursuit.

SicEm...

I can't remember all of the times you were going to do something and it fell through....

But...

Branson, Houston and the Waco Game are definitely making a case for a Game Show catagory like "Places SicEm failed to show".

Actually, the lyric is "Should I stay or should I go."

If this is an 80s rock exam, you've already failed.

Are you going to grad school of some sort?
Are you shooting for honor roll of some sort?

Employers generally only care if you have the piece of paper that says you eventually graduated.

As someone who blew off a lot of homework and had a lot of fun when he was young, cram on Sunday. No one gives a crap about what grade you made in some history class in college. Unless you are trying to get into some wicked difficult grad program, don't sweat it.

Mid-East History from 600-1790ish (1796 I think?).

NOT that difficult.. let's see.. of the top of my head..

Muslims choose uh... 622 as the year in which Islam began.. Muhammad consolidates power...

624... attacks caravan headed to Mecca... purportedly beheads over 600 "non-believers" thus beginning the theme of "fighting for Allah" as a fundamental tenet of Islam.

632 Muhammad dies.

Muslims control Jerusalem until 1080 when, the First Crusade overruns and conquers Jerusalem. Purportedly, 90,000 Muslims are slain.

In order to bring security to the Christian pilgrims going to Jerusalem, mainly from Joppa, the Knights Templar are formed... they start with 9 knights. Speculation is that their real purpose was to locate ancient documents and treasure secured in the Temple of Solomon.

The Templar Knights become the preiminent force in the region and throughout "Christendom" (as Europe was known).. until.. October 13, 1307 when the French King has them arrested, tortured and put to death.

1300s.. the Muslims, lead by Saladin, take back Jerusalem.

Led by Richard the Lionhearted, Christians attempt to retake Jerusalem and reach a stand off.

Uneasy centuries of war, peace ensues.

Post WWII, an independent Jewish state is established in what was then known as Palestine.. to become Israel.

There! You're welcome. Go enjoy the game!!!

Okay, here are the Cliff's Notes.

Rise of Islam. Crusades. Attrocities committed by and against both sides. Europeans win. European infighting. Arabs fill the void and assume control. Rise of European coloniaism. Arabs subjugated.
